Good idea, needs polish

Came to this app as a fan of Daym’s. Put off right away because why is the signup requiring a phone number?

Moving on to the general look and feel, it seems odd that the idea is that you follow restaurants rather than reviewers. Put a different way, I think this is meant to be a community type of app but there’s no way to see what the community is up to.

Lot of potential with users who are into uncovering local gems but needs work.

App needs work

I uninstalled the app and gave up. I’m sick of my emails being ignored. I wanted this app to succeed, but Daym ignores my attempts to report problems with the app. He doesn’t even talk about this app in his videos anymore which tells me he gave up on the app.

I admire Daym’s ambition and courage to go up against a titan like Yelp. At first, I thought there really wasn’t a need for another review app, but Restourant is a review app specifically for restaurants while Yelp is for all businesses and organizations public & private. The reasons I give this app 2 stars are 1) When a restaurant is added, there’s no way to set different hours for different days the restaurant is open 2) If a mistake is made when adding a restaurant, or of the restaurant changes, there’s no way to edit the restaurant information 3) There’s no way to select photos and see them full size. They’re all postage stamp size. 4) When I contact Daym to address these issues, I never get a reply. I want to help Daym with his app, but it’s really frustrating when the app is missing basic features, and attempts to address them with Daym go unacknowledged. If he really wants Restourant to be a serious contender with Yelp, he needs to step up his app game.

Not very good.

Have been wanting to delete my account for months keep sending emails to support no answer. Nobody is really using it in my city so it’s not very useful to me.

Useful, but not easy to navigate

Kinda feel like the “add restaurant” button should be front and center, not hidden in the profile settings menu.

The location services aren’t great, keeps telling me I’m MILES away from where I’m really at, makes adding restaurants difficult.

Character limit for reviews is a little short and restrictive.

Great that you can add photos and videos, and do half stars for more accurate ratings.

I want to like this, but it’s broken

I love the idea of this app, but it never works. Like, ever. I am at the restaurant I want to review, and not only does it always think I’m in another state, but it won’t let me select any restaurant to review. Once this is fixed, I’m sure I’ll enjoy the app and give a better review. For now, 1 star because it doesn’t even work.

Good app

This is a good app, I want to help with expanding the Houston based restaurants but I noticed also that we can’t enlarge any pictures that people post, or at least on iPhone I can’t. If you could enable a option to when we tap on a picture that’s part of someone’s review it enlarges because there’s some pictures that show a menu that I can’t see unless it got enlarged yknow? Other than that it’s a good app Daym 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

Love the intention…

App needs a little work but I really like the intention behind it, supporting and uplifting mom and pop restaurants and helping others discover these spots. On the main page of the app, the logout button is just way too big, it takes up so much space, this def needs to be moved. Also, I can’t seem to actually click on the uploaded images attached to the review, would love a gallery feature here. A few kinks to workout but there’s potential here.

Wanted so badly to have a great review app

Unfortunately I was unable to bring up certain restaurants in the area I live in as if they don’t exist?

App needs lots of work before it can be taken seriously as a viable review go to app IMO.

Will revisit at a later date hoping to see improvements.

Confused

I don’t understand - you follow restaurants, not reviewers? I wanted to follow Daym, but it looks like you only have options of following restaurants. Maybe I am misunderstanding how this works. The home page just displays the patron of the week- I assume this means the person that left the most reviews over the last week? Who cares about that. It also has a “recommended for you” section, which has nothing bit whitespace; I was not asked what my preferences are so this is not surprising. If you click the map “pin” icon on the home page, it takes me to a map of Europe with nothing else, despite living in Rochester NY and having location services enabled. Not super helpful. The Reviews page shows a lot whitespace nothing else unless you know what to search for; I did not know what to do so I searched for “Burger” and got nothing. Above all else, I do not understand the concept of following restaurants as opposed to reviewers. Why would I care if a McDonald’s near me goes from a 3.5 to a 4 star in a few months? Who micromanages restaurant reviews that you might visit again?

Interesting app

I do quite a few restaurant reviews on Yelp and I’ve liked it. This app looks ok but it is going to take awhile to input so many restaurants. I don’t see any restaurants in my area and if I input them all then it is going to be time consuming for me. I’ll stay with an established app for now. I know this targets mom and pops but most the reviewers I see on Yelp are for mom and pops already. I’m not sure the niche this app is trying to fill. Most people do not review fast food or national chains. I’m conflicted because I like Dayms food reviews and want to support him.

This app's concept is to show near by restaurant which was added by other user's or owners so might be your location has not much data. You can use global search to get the result

Is this Twitter for food reviews?

What’s up with the short and seemingly inconsistent character limit on the reviews? We love food and want to tell people about it. Remove the limit and get that 5th star or at least let us write a few paragraphs.

Also many places have hours that vary throughout the week, we cant accurately put in the hours with the current UI.

Great idea but people will just mess it up

I like the idea. But people are putting restaurants with the wrong address, no pictures and even the wrong times. You can’t rely on people to do what you think they should do, most of them are either trolling or just lazy and don’t care. Either way, hope you guys have a moderation team that has to approve every restaurant submission to stop people from trolling.

Keeps crashing

I downloaded the app, cause I enjoy watching your food reviews, the problem with the app is whenever I try to add the time the app either kicks me out or just crashes...

Consistent Crashing

Every time I try to add a restaurant and get to the hours of operation, the app closes on it’s own. I’ve restarted my phone, deleted and reinstalled the app. Nothing seems to work.
