What's New in RevLab

1.6

October 22, 2026

Rotaries, a W16, race hybrids and an electric car. • Two- and four-rotor rotaries and a quad-turbo W16 (Pro) • Three race power units: a 3.0 V10 that revs to 19,000 rpm, a 1.6 V6 turbo hybrid and an endurance V8 hybrid, with race car bodies and a race wheel display (Pro) • A four-motor electric research car: READY start, regen paddles, its own digital cluster (Pro) • Fix: the H-pattern shifter goes into the gear you meant more reliably • Fix: on the drag strip, pressing the brake puts 1st gear in every time • Exhaust pops and crackles on lift-off, real start-tree timing and relay sounds on the drag strip, cleaner sound effects and quieter shift clacks • Less wind hiss at the driver's seat • Battery saver graphics for older devices (the sound stays the same)

User reviews

.

It’s genuinely soooooo good🥹🙏🏾, I love cars and mechanical stuff so this game is like a breath of fresh air, but it would be better if u fixed the manual gear box not shifting issue and make the frame rate a bit less laggy, but lovely game, the graphics a amazing

Response from developer

Thank you so much! 1.6 fixes the manual gearbox, and Settings › Display › Graphics › Battery Saver makes it lighter on older devices.

The best engine simulator

It is just amazing!

absolutely peak

that game is absolutely peak, 10/10 sounds, 10/10 engines, but manual transmission is way too laggy and doesnt shift

Response from developer

Thank you! 1.6 fixes the manual shifting: the lever now lands in the right gear every time. Hope it feels even better now.

Ok so i dont usually write reveiws but this is an amazing app BUT there is a glitch with the manual transmissions where you cant shift it into any gears and its really frustrating so please fix it

Response from developer

Thanks for the honest review! The manual gearbox not going into gear is fixed in 1.6. The H-pattern shifter now finds the gear you aim for even with a quick, rough drag. Please give it another try.

FAQ

What types of engines can I simulate in RevLab?

RevLab offers a wide range of engines, including V-twins, inline engines (3, 4, 5, 6 cylinders), V8s (crossplane and flatplane), V10, V12, V16, W16, rotaries, race power units, an electric research car, and even aircraft turbofans and radial engines.

Does RevLab have ads?

Yes, RevLab contains advertisements. This is common for free applications that offer in-app purchases.

How realistic is the engine sound in RevLab?

The engine sound is computed in real-time based on factors like cylinder count, firing order, crank geometry, and exhaust manifold shape, rather than being pre-recorded. This allows for unique sound profiles for different engine configurations.

Can I test engine performance in RevLab?

Yes, RevLab features a drag strip where you can test quarter-mile and 0-100 km/h times. You can race against your personal best ghost or a factory driver, and view detailed time slips.

What devices is RevLab compatible with?

RevLab is available on Mac, iPhone, and iPad, providing a consistent experience across Apple devices.

How does RevLab handle gear shifting?

You can drive RevLab with a 3D gated shifter and three pedals, simulating manual transmissions (6- and 5-speed), DCTs with paddles, automatics, and sequential gearboxes. The simulation includes consequences like engine stalls and gear grinds if clutch or shifting is not handled correctly.

What is the age rating for RevLab?

RevLab has an age rating of 4+, making it suitable for a wide audience interested in engine simulations.

How often is RevLab updated?

The latest version of RevLab is 1.6, which was last updated on October 22, 2026. Updates typically bring new features, engine types, and performance improvements.
