RGSWear

The Rehabilitation Gaming System for Wearables (RGSWear) is a novel rehabilitation approach supported by numerous scientific studies for the treatment of functional deficits due to brain damage. The core of RGS technology is a software package that has been developed in collaboration with scientists, physicians, and especially patients. RGSWear relies on wearable technologies (phone and watch) to help optimally regain motor function and well-being. RGSWear is backed by Reinforcement Induced Movement Therapy (RIMT). The continuous tracking and personalized feedback aim to encourage the patient about the use of the paretic limb, avoiding entering a vicious cycle of non-use of the limb. The application provides the patient with personalized messages about their improvement status and includes an exercise to monitor the recovery over time. The development of the application is part of the following European project: https://rgs-at-home.eu/ The RGSWear app uses HealthKit to obtain the steps in order to normalize the arm usage and provide an accurate feedback. Once the workout is finished the data is stored in the fitness app.
