Headache not working

Bought this sign from eBay this app won’t even connect to the sign cause it’s not showing in the wifi I have to turn off on my wifi and play with the app for like 5 min then it will connect so after the connection the app won’t work it self. I end up downloading the plus version so I have to connect the sign using pro version and use the plus version to use. It won’t connect with plus version. Even with plus version it wasn’t showing words correctly so I end up playing with the app for 2 hours it worked then. I don’t know what I did but I’m afraid to change any settings. Please fix this app issue. Sign didn’t came any instructions. Seller didn’t know anything so I felt bad for him. I have iOS 14 iphone
