What's New in Rhythm LightScore

1.5

October 22, 2026

Notifications, rewritten: • A good-morning note when your day starts. • A nudge when your morning light is running behind, and an afternoon break when the day needs more light. • A note the moment you reach your daily goal. • A reminder to wind down before bed. No streak pressure, and tapping one takes you to the right place. Your LightScore, clearer: • Tap the number in the ring for your LightScore's history by week, month, six months and year. • The breakdown under the ring now adds up to the score. • Consistency counts only days with readings, so a new phone or a day on the charger no longer counts against you. • Today stays out of the averages until it's over, the hourly chart shows every lit hour, and the report turns to the new day at midnight. Also new: the weekly sunset recap shows only the skies you logged, the Apple Watch app uses the iPhone's typeface, and phone sign-in is more reliable.

FAQ

What is Rhythm LightScore?

Rhythm LightScore is a wellness app that provides a daily "LightScore" out of 100. This score is calculated based on the amount of daylight you get, how consistent your light exposure is, and your phone usage in the hour before bed.

How does Rhythm LightScore measure light?

If you have an Apple Watch, it reads "Time in Daylight" from the Health app. If not, the app uses your phone's front camera as a light meter to measure ambient light levels.

Can Rhythm LightScore track my phone use before bed?

Yes, by connecting to Screen Time, Rhythm LightScore can show your phone usage in the hour before bed and how it impacts your "Dark Time" score. This report is kept private on your phone.

Is Rhythm LightScore accurate?

The app is transparent about its measurements, noting when data is sampled rather than continuously monitored. Camera readings are estimates, and the app clearly states their accuracy band.

What devices does Rhythm LightScore support?

Rhythm LightScore is available for iPhone and Apple Watch. It leverages Health app data from your Apple Watch for seamless tracking.

How often is Rhythm LightScore updated?

The latest version is 1.4, and the app was last updated on October 16, 2026. This indicates a consistent update schedule from the developer.

Is Rhythm LightScore free to use?

Yes, Rhythm LightScore is available for free. There are no in-app purchases or advertisements mentioned, making it a completely free experience.

Does Rhythm LightScore collect personal health data?

Rhythm LightScore reads "Time in Daylight" and your sleep schedule from the Health app but does not write any data to it. Sunset photos are stored locally unless you choose to share them, and account data can be deleted from within the app.
