Person-only alerts aren’t safe

Ring can already tell animals from people. Search finds pets and wildlife. Search Party looks for lost dogs. There is even a $5/month Ring Appstore add-on (Wildlife Alert, third party, billed through Ring) whose whole job is naming coyotes and bears on cameras you already own. Live Smart Alerts still treat Person, Package, and Vehicle as the only first-class pings. That is a product choice, not a technical limit.
It is also unsafe. We feed a cat. A coyote came in while it was eating and tried to take it. The only reason I got an alert is the system mistook the coyote for a person. If it had classified the animal correctly and stayed quiet under People Only, I would not have known in time and could have got bitten myself.
You already detect the animal. You already sell the missing category through the Appstore. Put Animal / Wildlife / Predator next to Person, Package, and Vehicle as a native toggle. Charging again for a safety alert your models already run is a problem.
I am sending this to Ring/Amazon support as well. If there is no real response or a native animal/predator alert option, I will keep escalating through official support and any consumer channels that apply. This is Southern California coyote country. Person-only is not good enough.

Horrible ring service and cameras

Cameras never work right. They hardly ever capture videos no matter how many times I have fixed the settings. And don't like the delays when it captures a person or car

Latest update breaks GUI

At the top of the app, the icons on the left (x) and right (gear) have been replaced by white circles. Complete lack of QA to allow this to happen. I have deleted and reinstalled app. The issue remains.

Mailbox alerts fixed

Latest APP now working perfectly

Needs an option to remove tamper warning

When changing a battery in a door sensor it always adds a tamper warning which has to be dealt with in the sensor, better to be able to reset from the app

Command buttons are white

Pretty sure left one was X Don’t remember the other. I see several others with same complaint

My Ring

Highly recommended!

Cheap Garbage doorbell is falling apart

Horrible video quality. Cheap Garbage Doorbell Pro protective clear hard plastic is already falling off after less than 1 year and Ring will do nothing about it but want you to buy a new doorbell. Horrible video quality. You will never be able to get a face ID on people at your door because the video is so blurry. The neighbors postings is a joke any post I have about a suspicious vehicle or person gets denied but I see dumb posts all the time about loud noises. I thought a new version of the doorbell camera was supposed to be an upgrade now the video quality sucks. The older doorbell had better quality video compared to this garbage now. Only going to deal with this for another year while I look more in depth for other camera doorbell options.

Not working

Keep saying offline

Firmware update created a mess

No other way to respond via app.. firmware updated cameras and now solar panel is not being recognized…

Delayed notification

What is up with these delayed notifications 2-3 minutes later? There’s nothing I changed in notification setting it’s doing it across all my devices.

Last updae

The latest update for the smoke detectors caused them to go offline; the same thing happened with the cameras. I spent the whole day trying to change the Wi-Fi settings, but unfortunately without success. For a brand focused on security, this is something that absolutely should not happen.

Persistent disconnects

Always seem to be reconnecting these devices

Slow

Slow notification

Worked great until last update

Loved this app for our ring doorbell. However, the app updated today and since then it hasn’t worked. The video camera wasn’t recording, the door bell didn’t work either. Then all of a sudden I would get a notification that someone was at the door and no one was there. We didn’t make any changes to our internet or anything else. Only change was the app update.

What happened to the audio?!

For some reason, the developers felt it was a good idea to REMOVE the audio. Why? The quality of RING has been steadily decreasing over the years and the removal of sound is just plain ridiculous. It’s time to start looking at another company for camera needs.

Security

I feel safer knowing l can see who is at the front door and if l want to see them.

SOS

I love my Ring cameras. I love the app, but man the price of SOS is ridiculous. You need to do something about that.

I’m so fed up with Ring

There’s been a problem that has been written about for YEARS about rings working fine, and then out of the blue they will refuse to connect to the same WiFi they have used for years. They will not even recognize the WiFi is present but can tell you every other WiFi within a 15 mile block. Apparently this has to do with some 2.4 vs 5 g problem? WHY DONT THEY FIX THIS. I have two rings that have separately crapped out for different reasons but this software issue that has been noted for years surely must have some fix? I’ll be looking into other options than Ring in the future

Missing Important Motion Events

Very disappointed with my Ring Doorbell Pro lately. It keeps missing important events even though everything is set up correctly and we have already tried all the recommended troubleshooting.

For example, a car can arrive and park in front of our home, and people can get out, but Ring does not detect or record any of it. Then suddenly, the next recording just shows the car already parked. We have no idea who arrived or what happened because the most important part of the event was completely missed.

This happens frequently with different events. Our internet connection and Wi-Fi signal are excellent, all motion settings and zones are configured correctly, and we even turned off Smart Alerts to see if that was causing the problem, but it made no difference.

We have the previous generation Ring Doorbell Pro, and it used to work much better. For a security device, missing entire events like this is very concerning. Ring needs to investigate and fix this issue.
