User reviews

Air bnb s

I’m pleased with Nest .We use nest products at all of our property’s .

Overrides my settings

This thermostat is a headache. It constantly overrides my settings and then changes them for “seasonal savings”. I just wanted a thermostat I could adjust from my phone. I don’t need one that thinks it knows more than me.

Nest

Love the nest cameras and app. Became horrible when google got involved. Still can’t see my cameras from my laptop.

Setting schedules annoying

I like everything about this app except scheduling temperatures and times. You have to use a slider button to set the temperatures instead of being able to type them in. You also have to set every single day and time manually. I wish I could just set the schedule for every day of the week instead.

Smoke alarms

Having trouble getting replacements and they seem to go bad all at the same time

FAQ

What does the Nest app do?

The Nest app allows you to control and monitor various smart home devices from Google Nest. This includes thermostats, security systems, cameras, and smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, all from your smartphone or tablet.

What are the key features of the Nest app?

Key features include remote control of thermostats to adjust temperature and view energy usage, arming and disarming your security system, viewing live feeds from Nest Cams, and receiving alerts from Nest Protect smoke and CO detectors.

Is the Nest app free to use?

The Nest app itself is free to download and use for basic control of your devices. However, some advanced features, such as extended video history for Nest Cams, require a subscription to Nest Aware, which is an in-app purchase.

What devices are compatible with the Nest app?

The app is designed to work with a range of Google Nest products, including Nest Learning Thermostats, Nest Thermostat E, Nest Secure alarm systems, Nest Protect smoke and CO alarms, various Nest Cams (including IQ and Dropcam models), Nest Hello video doorbells, and Nest x Yale locks.

How can the Nest app help automate my home?

The app uses sensors and your phone's location to automate actions. For example, it can automatically adjust your thermostat or turn on cameras when you leave home, and send 'Remind Me' alerts if you forget to set your alarm.
