Blahhh

I couldn’t even get the app set up without granting always on location permission. No thanks

Nest

Best camera ever

Nest camera

The camera goes off when a person comes to door

How to control the temperature

It’s a great product and what I like the most it’s the technology that you can set it up or down from an app on your phone . No more going to the thermostat.

Family member keeps losing access

Same as title. Over and over

Not user friendly

This app sucks. It’s not user friendly or intuitive. The settings don’t save. Going to buy a new thermostat

I liked it until…

I absolutely loved my Nest until I tried to turn the fan on without the air conditioner. You don’t have any way to just turn the blower on with my Nest…

This was a significant issue because I could not fall the coils before the service person showed up.

Things work but not well together

I have a nest thermostat that works well but I hate the automatic setting change to “save energy” it ends up adjusting temps at the weirdest times and the house is never comfortable. Then the bill comes in higher than it was. Also my nest smoke alarms expired and guess what!!! They don’t make them anymore. So I got the recommended “works with nest” brand and GUESS WHAT!!!! You have to download a DIFFERENT APP AND REGISTER WITH THAT ONE. Why can’t we just get good products made and continued to be made?!?!?!? This sucks.

Works Great

I’ve used Nest for 8+ years. It works great. Don’t change a thing. Don’t try to fix what’s not broke. Simple is good.

Meh

Very slow to respond and overly complicated

Strange happenings

All Good

Too slow

It takes a long time to reflect any action. The doorbell doesn't always work.

Nest keeps taking over

Will not retain settings, overrides and takes over. I have to keep reprogramming so my unit will run at our desired temperature.

Satisfied

I love Nest since we have this

Takes too long to load

The load time of the app gets longer and longer after each release. Used to be usable to control in 2-3 sec. Now takes over 5 sec. Start to get annoying waiting

Total control

Not able to control my thermostat with total control tired of Google turning it up at night tried everything I could even called Nest and nobody has returned my call.

Please stop overriding my schedule AND stop erasing my devices requiring reinstalling

Each time I spend scheduling my three Nest devices, inevitably Nest overrides my settings and does some ECO mode or saver mode garbage. Please let us have the option of controlling our own thermostats. The learning aspect of Nest products is simply garbage as it does not learn outside of what the corporation gathers in data and sells to their corporate cronies. Turn this OFF

As of July 2026, all of my Nest thermostat products simply disappeared off of the Google Home app after having worked for 6-8 months. This is absolute garbage and it will not be replaced with a Nest product when it dies

Eco

I hate it when it goes into Eco when we’re actually at home. And then it states that it’s “away”when we’re home.

No longer supported

After spending a fortune on a thermostat and protect items they are no longer supported so leaving me having to fork out again for an alternative, never buying from Google again.

Power outages are trouble

I love it when it works, but one camera doesn’t automatically come back up after a power outage. Sometimes it only takes unplugging it and plugging it back in again, but I live 630 miles away and it’s often many months before I get back again.
