Bad app
This is an awful app. It can never connect to my thermostat. It is easier to do it myself and change the temperature by hand. Annoying as hell. It doesn’t look that they can figure the glitches out and fix them.
NO customer support
I cannot return my nest thermostat that is under warranty because it will not connect to the Internet in my house, I have emailed and called their Customer Service, but no one ever answers, it is absolutely terrible, do not get nest
Go with the other product
Look, I’ve been using this as my thermostat for five years and I’m finally tucking (yeah, you know what I mean) fed up with this fog dhit product and app. Despite having all settings turned off to allow this tucking thing to automatically adjust the temperature of my house (we like a consistent 65° no matter the season) this tucker always wants to tucking adjust itself. I assume it’s because it tucking thinks it’s being energy efficient but let me tell you tucking what, when I have to crank that hawg to get back down to 65° inside of my house when the outside temperature is >105° degrees, when my mind of its own thermostat allows its self to regulate between up between 68° and 70° tell me how tucking energy efficient that tucking is?! And before any of you tucking liberdulls wanna spout your hatch chili holsters off at me about green energy this and save the whales that, t-tfu because ain’t a one of you pays my bills. Eat a dadburn nature flavored tootsie roll.

Totally unreliable!!
Ever since Nest got together with Google I have issues every day constantly just logging in. I recommend using another company or completely foregoing nest. Just go back to the old school thermostat.
Loyal Customers Shouldn’t Be Forced to Replace Everything
I was very happy with the Nest thermostats and cameras when I first bought them. They worked reliably, and controlling everything from my phone was one of the main reasons I chose the Nest ecosystem.
Unfortunately, after the newer models and software updates were introduced, my older Nest thermostats no longer work the way they used to. I have a multi-zone HVAC system with five separate rooms, so I need at least five thermostats. Replacing all of them with newer models would be very expensive.
Because of this, I can only give this product 3 out of 5 stars. I really hope Google improves support for older Nest devices so they continue to function as they did before, especially allowing full control through the phone app. Loyal customers who invested in multiple Nest products should not be forced to replace everything just to keep the same features.

Sign in problem
The thermostat is great, however you have to sign in, sometimes at an inoperative time.
Inconsistent connections
Disconnect from phone multiple times randomly over multiple periods one point Nest thermostat just completely turned off only way to fix it with the unplug it then plug it back in and somehow it worked again seems very inconsistent

The app is very buggy and I’m stuck paying an every increasing monthly subscription for cameras. Sunk cost fallacy if I ever saw it.
Where it all is happening
I have had nest for long long time, then google, a great company I admire and respect for all of their great products, ideas that are useful in daily life and beyond. Wish I knew what to do with the obsoleted cams now?
Unpredictable temperatures
Regardless to being “smart” it is a daily occurrence for thermostat to reset itself just minutes after manually adjusting. I’ve seen many similar comments in reviews.
