Perfect app for balancing privacy with safety
I love the way Rippl puts me in control rather than the government with their Covid Tracer app. Freedom is really important to me and I want to be responsible. Rippl enables me to take responsibility without compromising control of my life by giving the government too much power.
Very good, but needs API integration
This app is easy to use, works with QR code’s no problem. Very secure and private. Like the fact you can do a manual entry if required. Only needs to add the Apple/Google API and it would get the full stars. Look forward to the update.

Missing not having access to input actual time in and out when no QE code available to scan.

Can’t check out, can’t manually add or adjust times
There’s no option when opening the app again to check out of the previous session. (e.g. if phone goes flat and gets recharged). My times therefore say either 10 hours 30 mins (for my work) or 1 hour (for cafes) if I close the app (to save battery) and there’s no way to adjust that. Manual input for places without compatible QR codes/if you forget to scan it would also be good.

Camera not starting
Tried to use the app and camera would not turn on. Using an iPhone 8. Have deleted app. Useless
Best Tracing App that values your privacy
Amazing app. Easy to use, no sign in or password required and a trustworthy app that protects your privacy. Not sure why the NZ Government didn’t choose this as the #1 tracing app, as it’s much better than the NZCOVID Tracing app. Love the minimal clicks required. Wish more apps were this user friendly.

Need improvements
The app is easy to use. The main problem is that it does not record the right time spent in a place; it also does the logout by itself. Please fix the problem.
Time adjustment needed
Would be good to be able to adjust the duration of visit . First time user. Found out I could check in just as I was leaving .. so check-I. Doesn’t reflect actual stay.
App not available out of NZ
The Rippl app is not available to iPhones with stores not set to New Zealand. This is an inconvenience and means that pen and paper tracing has to be used. Please make this available to app stores outside of NZ, like Germany and UK. Thanks
No more forms!
Enjoyed the fact that I didn’t have to fill out another form to walk into a venue. Scan and done.

Inaccurate time log
I’ve used Rippl to check in to a couple places already and the length of time the app logs does not match the time I actually spent there. And it differs per user; my flatmate and I were at the same place for the same period of time and our time log is vastly different (4hrs vs 128min). And his is in minutes and mine in hours?
Why not log time in and time out instead of trying to log length of stay? Seems much easier and much more accurate to just time stamp check in and check out.

Great tool
Ignore the ill informed complaint. This is a great app
No backup service
I was excited to see another business using Rippl to register indoor customers, then I paid NZ$35 early bird rate subscription fees for 3 months. But the QR code it provided can not be retrieved. I sent several emails to ask for it, but no feedback whatsoever. Plus, it does not explain how does it work or manage for the business venue. There was no direct communication for the money you paid for the particular purpose. That is bad to take advantage of desperate hospitality business. Bad approach. I regretted what I paid. There was no half star rating, otherwise it only deserves that.
