I’ve been working with this system for two years. Not a single update to the app and it has never worked correctly. Lights never connect to app. Don’t wast you money. There are better systems
Accessibility issue - display zoom = Larger Text
On iPhone 17 pro, if you use display zoom = larger text, the app is not configured for that.
Group option doesn’t work
Simple as the title. The group option just simply doesn’t work. It shouldn’t be this difficult for a light set up that’s was £1800
Pretty much unusable
The App doesn’t stay connected to the lights whatsoever and drops out constantly. Switching from light to light is pretty much unusable, it makes you have to reset the app, and the lights several times to get working, eventually. This needs updated asap. So that it works more like Sidus link, tap a light in the app, it selects it after a second. Or having all your lights of a dashboard and they can’t be adjusted instantly. I’ve used several companies lighting control apps and this is by far the least featured and least reliable.

Okay but…
This should be a great app, but, the inability to stay connected to the lights, the random drop outs and the waiting time to switch light to light makes it too much trouble to use. If you mount one light in a softbox and solely use it for that single light, your good to go, but if you have 6 lights around the shoot it’s quicker and easier to walk around the lights one by one and adjust them by hand. By the time you connect to each light individually, your models hair has gone flat, her eyes are red and she’s wandered off in her phone. It’s a shame as it would really make a useful tool

Needs updating for groups
This app seems to have been given up on… No updates in over a year. I love the concept, but it doesn’t seem like they have any funds to focus on this app they decided to throw in and briefly promote, which other companies, who do lighting, constantly update… This can’t be that hard? This app needs the groups option to be unlocked… like, why wasn’t it there to begin with? It’s greyed out permanently… it’s supposed to come with a future update… well that was announced over a year and a half ago! What gives? This is my preferred way to shoot events! Are we waiting for the next NEO/AEOS series to come out or a firmware update? There are some inherent problems with them, but dang they are still sweet and I feel are the future in photographic creativity. Please at least give us an update, Rotolight! 3 stars for not keeping up to date and limiting ability that seems to be built in!

Rubbish
The app is rubbish. It sometimes links my Aeos 2 to wifi and sometimes can’t be bothered. It is never consistent enough to use the Aeos 2 on a commercial shoot. The Aeos 2 also does not always link to the Profoto triggers, certainly not consistently enough to use the Aeos 2 on a client shoot. The color tech is great but the app and these lights are just not ready for prime time.

What makes the NEO 3 event better than it already is? This app of course! And now with Magic Eye….this feature alone upgrades my game on a commercial shoot now that I can color match the light output to a brand logo or product. Easy to use, endless creativity and functions. Love it!
Rotolight as smooth as every
I have been using Rotolights for many years, with the newer models being able to be controlled via the app.
The app runs as smoothly as you would expect from a product designed by Rotolight.
Nice and clean display which perfectly matches the back of the lights, meaning I can be sure that if the light in a softbox or out of reach that the setting will be as accurate as if I set them on the light via the dials.

Game changer for remote light control!
In its current form it’s a game changer for how these lights can be used. Missed remote control over flash power from my Godox setup but putting full control over everything into an app is just unparalleled!
It isn’t perfect yet as this is the very first release, but given the pace Rotolight have committed to improving it at and their dedication to class leading lighting equipment I have every confidence that it will soon be 5 stars worth of perfection!

If you have one of the new Rotolights you MUST download this app and start using it. From your device, phone or tablet one can control any of your Rotolight(s). It is so easy to use and connectivity is in real time.
None of this walking your light and changing the power, colour, special effects.
The app also has new features which weren’t previously on your new Rotolight ( magenta slider for one ).
At the time of writing, older Rotolights aren’t yet compatible but will be available in future updates.
People. This is a must for any Rotolight user.

Total Lighting Control the Beginning
Having worked with studio lighting equipment for over 40 years I have always longed for an affordable way to control the functionality of my studio lighting from a single point. With the release of this Rotolight app I have been able to realize something that I thought would always be beyond my grasp.
Today this new Rotolight app in conjunction with Rotolight’s new NEO3 and AEOS2 WWRGB lighting units we now have an intuitive application and interface on our phone that allows us to adjust every single function of our NEO3 and AEOS2 lighting units both easily and precisely. Moreover, we can actually save adjustments that we will use over and over again as presets for future recall at the touch of a button. This application is only in its first release and it already demonstrates lighting control that in the past has cost thousands of dollars to achieve. I highly recommend it to all owners of the NEO3 and AEOS2 Rotolights and I look forward to seeing the enhanced functionality that they have roadmapped for us later on this year.
