Battery drainer
Poor
Required by Insurance, But It’s a Battery-Draining Nightmare
The battery drain alone is alarming. This single app accounts for 54% or more of my battery usage. That’s not a background app. That’s a liability.
The bigger issue is how poorly it detects whether you’re a driver or a passenger. It consistently records me as the driver when I’m clearly a passenger…if someone is on their phone the entire time a vehicle is moving, that’s a pretty strong signal they are not driving. A well-designed app should be able to figure that out. This one can’t.
It also has zero reason to track my location constantly, yet it does. There’s no justification for that level of data collection for what this app is supposed to do.
I could go on, but what’s the point…insurance is still going to require this insanity.
Terrible.
The old app recorded my driving just fine, but when I finally got the new app going, it lost all my drives after Feb. 20.
I’m about to lose my insurance discount if the app doesn’t record at least one drive before March 27. It took customer service a month before I could activate the app. I guess I’m going to be trashing this. 😡
Absolutely horrible and unethical
I also go out 1 night every so frequently fern with friends and anything passed 10pm seems to automatically get flagged for driving too late.
Flawed
Absolutely junk event detection
Total trash and it’s ruining my rating for insurance.
Poor
Frustrated!
Inaccurate
Not working
Really?
Not a fan of this app
I pretty much understand the speed category, keep it under 80 and you’re not speeding.
Focus: don’t interact with your phone while driving, since the app is on the phone, it knows. What it doesn’t seem to know is if your map app didn’t take you to the right destination, or there is a road closure that the app didn’t detect, and you pull into a parking lot and open the map app, you’ll get gigged for an event.
Sudden braking is glitchy. It has logged a sudden braking event when I made a left turn into my community.
Time of day is the worst one though. I tend to drive between 9 in the morning and 7 in the evening. Apparently it doesn’t like the time I drive because that is the category I get gigged the most. I can’t really change the times and places I drive to.
If you’re not required to use this app, I wouldn’t get it. It’s not really a good teaching tool to encourage safer driving habits.
Nice app, I like it
Discounts great, device impact ain’t
Accuracy
Lowers your score if you drive at night
Poor app
Too much battery
But in the last month or so I’ve noticed this app uses too much power. If I am driving, my battery goes down super fast. At then end of the day over 50% of my battery usage is from this app. This needs to be fixed. Unfortunately, if I don’t use it, I don’t get my insurance discount.
