I’m new to this Rove dash cam. It was easy setup and installation for my 2010 Highlander. I’m lazy reader but force myself to read carefully,lol. I’m old man retired not easy to get under dashboard but use mirror to get better look before to install a location. Thanks got enough room to work on. My car is excellent condition. Mileage is now 193,933. I’ll see next review later on, sweet 🧏😁

The old UI definitely needed updating but at least it worked. Now it’s impossible to get access to the videos even if you allow full access to your photo/video library…which no one should agree to. It took me 30 minutes of trying to connect to download one video which it said downloaded but never actually added to my phone or to the local album built into the app! What’s the point of the local album in the app and why would you need full access to my library if the app has its own folder? Curious how the design of this was thought out.

SLOW BUGGY APP
This app is GARBAGE - it constantly logs me out, won’t connect to my rove dash cam, and won’t load ANY videos making it completely useless.

New App Update
The new app update is phenomenal. The old app was basically unusable and would take forever to even load between menu options. I don’t usually write reviews but the developers did a great job with the new update. Much more user friendly, seamless, great UI, and better functionality overall. With this update it will make the dash cam integration even easier.

Love My Rove Dash Cam!
My wife bought me the Rove dash cam for my birthday last year and it is amazing. It came with dash cam as well as the rear camera. The clarity is amazing and it has literally saved my butt a few times proving that I was in the right. Love Rove and highly recommend it! With all of the crazy lunatics we have on the roads nowadays, dash cams are an absolute must have!! It also made my insurance go down, which I really love.

Poor connection
I’ve had this dash cam and app for over 3 years now. I have needed a few clips from it and every single time it’s a huge struggle. The WiFi either won’t connect or navigating the app is a pain not to mention there’s always an update.
App is horrendous, camera is great
Only giving 2 stars because the camera quality is really good. Ive had this camera for maybe about a year and a half. Ive been able to successfully retrieve videos maybe twice. Everything is always “loading”, and scrolling through dates to even find a video is a hassle. The app is so terrible it kind of defeats the entire purpose of the camera.

Practical and User Friendly
Easy to offload video, especially when it is needed quickly. Best I've had, ever. Updates are annoying but the last one was definitely a good thing.

Major issues with latest update
The latest update (1) freezes after about 2 minutes of trying to view videos. And (2) the app no longer displays thumbnails of stored videos. I don’t know what other issues there are since it locks up. Using latest firmware too.
20MB/s? More Like 20KB/s
The advertised download speed is extremely misleading. The product claims up to 20MB/s transfer speed through the app, but in real-world use I was getting only a few dozen KB/s. Downloading a single video takes forever, and larger files are practically impossible to transfer.
What's the point of having WiFi and an app if it takes hours to download footage? At this speed, it's honestly faster to remove the SD card and transfer the files manually.

Latest update breaking WiFi
Latest update breaking WiFi settings. Keeps saying incorrect password. Password is indeed the same as inside the camera settings. Nothing changed except app updated.
