Like the title says this a great app where some of the best stories can be found. Iff you want to GamLit then this is the app for you.

The app is polite about ads, and allows you to pick how you want them displayed.
You can change the color and font of the book for better legibility too!
And they’re always making updates and patches to make it better. (Continue slaying dev team)

Platform has problems
For being an app about writing and reading stories rroyal road is so incredibly biased towards the authors that they can ban you from commenting or reviewing their stories just by you commenting on one of there stories. So in short, anything short of a glowing review quickly gets you banned from even reviewing their stories story.

Missing only one thing
This app desperately needs a function where it will read out chapters. Another cool edition might be a way for authors to upload audio recordings of the chapter. The app isn’t particularly friendly toward the visually impaired. I’m not a big fan of AI, but helping the disabled does seem like a halfway decent use of it. So they should totally allow audio file uploads, and have a section where you can have an AI read it to you if there is no audio upload. Hopefully the developers will see this.

Stuck in ad loop bouncing back and forth - do yourself a favor and either use the web app or another site

Just today it looks like the Royal Road app launched some new ads between chapters. They are extremely cumbersome to dismiss.

Is there a way to give negative stars? This app will ban you if you give authors anything but good reviews.

Mods intentionally prevent reviews on writing. Go to another site, the mods for this site are obviously big on censorship.
I Love Royal Road But…
I have used this app and the website before it for years. I love reading stories on it and used the app ever since it came out. However recently the app has become literally unusable. The app just wont load anything. I can’t even try to login. I just have to use the website like before. I have already made a bug report. I hope the issue is fixed soon.

After reading cradle I inevitably stumbled upon royal road and web novels. What a delight that this exists. Free to use and very reasonably priced to pay for and get offline reading etc. couldn’t sing higher praise

But I would love something like Google translate integrated nto the app. English is not my first language and sometime I don’t understand words. With my pc I use google translate but sadly I can’t with the app.

Too much unmarked AI slop
90% of the stuff is (unmarked) AI slop nowadays and if you mention it in the forums your post gets insta deleted… don’t bother with it.
Great spot to put a novel
I love the format and community here. It’s awesome! Wish uploading chapters was a bit less clunky, but great overall. Check out Transcendent: Ultra!

The app works but is very clunky. It’s better than the website but just barely.
RR cut Apple
Signed in only via Apple ID. RR now requires a separate ID linked to Apple ID. No way to contact support and lost all progress.
