Great

Great app, easy to use and so much easier than trying to figure out an alternative way to do this. Remember to place over the center of the spindle elevating it with a roll of masking taped or something similar.

App freezes once starts measuring

The free version worked ok but it was very annoying to have a message pop up every few seconds so I took a chance on the paid version. At $14.99 I was hoping for something that would work just the same as the free version but without nags. Unfortunately it just freezes either at the start of measurement or the end.

Hello, sorry to hear you’re having trouble. It definitely shouldn’t be freezing, check the settings page to see if there is a ‘freeze time’ set, this is so that at the end of a timed session you can read the display even after the turntable stops turning. If the issue continues then try the old faithful of turning the phone completely off and on again.

This is the only method I trust.

I don’t trust the strobes and this is the easiest way to get an accurate reading. Enjoy! Thank you for publishing this!

TT Speed Dialed In

I was able to really dial in the speeds on my Fluance RT81 turntable. This is one of the best apps out there and practical.

Great app

Love the ease of checking and adjusting my TT rpm with this app. I also love looking thru the database to see other models. My only complaint is that the database could use some curating. There are some obviously bad data points. For example large w&f numbers where the graph shows data loss (flat lines). Would also be nice if the models could be forced to use consistant naming. There are probably 10 variations of at lp120 in the database. Still and excellent feature and usefull for researching TT’s.

Thanks for the great feedback. You are absolutely right about the TT model names needing cleaning up, I have done it in the past and it’s due another good clean up. Ideally you would have to select your model, just like the make, unfortunately that data is hard to come by. However now there is A decent set of data I propose to use the currently uploaded models as the starting point and then add more models as needed. Thank you for your support. Phil

Good idea, but....

Good idea but the indicated speed can vary by several tenths depending on where you place your phone on the turntable, so You can’t ever treat the results as 100% accurate. This is likely to be a limitation of using gyroscopes, so probably can’t be improved. Which makes this app overpriced considering the technical limitations it can’t overcome.

Thanks for your feedback. It is recommended that the most accurate and reproducible results will be obtained by placing the phone directly over the centre of the platter. Placing off centre will imbalance the platter and definitely have an affect on rpm and w/f accuracy. I don’t see this as a technical limitation of gyroscopes just a necessary understanding of how to get the best out of using any measuring equipment. I appreciate your comment though and will look to clarify the usage instructions more.
