Gets.chomp não pode ser executado???

Estou estudando programação começando por Ruby e percebi que ao digitar o gets.chomp no app, ele me retorna o seguinte erro: "undefined method 'chomp' (NoMethodError)"... então queria saber se há alguma forma de ativar essa opção de interação, ou isso fica limitado apenas o programa já baixado em Windows ou Linux? Unusable, unfortunately

There are a lot of bugs with this app now. I only made it about three minutes before giving up. When you first start coding, the keyboard pops up and pushes the code off the screen, so you can’t see what you’re writing. The screen blinks in and out frequently, like a strobe light at a concert. And as another reviewer mentioned, basic Ruby methods (not from Rails) are mysteriously missing. In sum, you just aren’t going to get anywhere with this app.
