This is the best rucking app out there, covers the essentials very well, and it’s not bloated with social or media fake community non sense. If you want to track your rucks, this is the app

Great app

I have been using this as a beginner Rucker and find it useful for tracking and mapping my routes. Will continue to use!

Showed promise

Used it for a week and liked what I was seeing. The first couple times I used it, the app would stop tracking. I’d check it and find that it wasn’t tracking and have to start it again. All the rucks after that worked perfectly. Did a 10k ruck on Saturday and it worked great. Today, I can’t get the app to work at all. It crashes the second it loads. I’ve rebooted my phone and that didn’t help. I’m using an iPhone 16 Pro Max and iOS 18.6.2. Plan to ruck in the morning and I guess I’ll have to find another app to use. I’m afraid if I delete the app and reinstall, it will lose all of my history. The app doesn’t feed anything into the health app as far as I can tell and doesn’t upload backups to iCloud. Edited to add that I ended up deleting the app and reinstalling. Lost all previous progress. It worked for one ruck session fine. The next time I tried to open it, it instantly crashed again. I deleted and reinstalled again with the same results. Sometimes it will load without crashing, but it freezes and says “updating weather” at the bottom. It is completely unresponsive when that happens. I force close the app and then it goes back to instantly crashing back to the Home Screen.

Next level rucking app

I love how this app checks the weather for the next six hours right where I am. It totally saved me from getting soaked on my rucking the other day. I did a quick one instead and saved the long run for the next day. Super cool feature!

Permissions

May be a good app, but it wouldn’t let me use it unless I allow location access when not using the app. Why?

The app needs 'Allow all the time' location access so it can continue to track your rucking session accurately even when the app is in the background or your phone is locked. This prevents your workout from being interrupted or losing data. We want to assure you that your privacy is our top priority. Your location is only ever tracked when you have an active ruck in progress and is never monitored otherwise. We hope this clears things up, and we'd love for you to give the app a try!

This is great for newbie and experienced ruckers! I especially like that I can adjust the weight of my backpack, and the metronome for pacing is very useful for staying on pace while rucking.
