RV Life app, not worth it
App is difficult to use and directions are basically the same other GPS apps (i.e. Waze and Google Maps). So far, I don’t see the benefit of my paid subscription and wish I could get a refund.

Only works with an internet connection - false advertising
The ads for this app swear up and down that you can navigate offline once you’ve downloaded the maps. The truth is the app is clugey and error prone, and despite having downloaded maps and following instructions, we were stuck driving blind in western NC.
Sure the price is right, but I cannot trust this app navigating with any expensive rig. Back to Garmin for me.

Mediocre at best
We have used this app many times but it continues to disappoint. This trip it does not give us directions to turn soon enough to get us over into the lanes we need to be in compared to Apple Maps. I want to love this app because it’s the only one we have found for Raving but it needs to ramp up its directions to anticipate traffic and lane changes and exits. Also they need to add “Things I want to Avoid” …NARROW ROADSand Parking lots with no turnarounds for whatever size RV you are. People WILL pay for THAT app!

So far it’s okay
I travel full time but haven’t used this app very long. One thing I’ve noticed is that I get a LOT of notifications. And while there are many options to select which notifications to receive, all of mine are off except to remind me to download offline trips so I don’t know why I’m still getting them to read the newsletter and whatnot. I don’t want to turn them at the System level so hopefully this bug gets fixed.
Update: you can’t disable certain unimportant notifications. Subtracting another star for repeatedly sending unwanted notifications.

Our go to RV trip planner
As full-timers, from confidence in routing based on RV parameters to assuring fuel stops are readily accessible, RV Life is our go to planner every time. We have recommended RV Life/RV Trip Wizard to several RV'ers during our travels.
Horrible app
The absolute worst maps I have ever seen this pos couldn’t even get me to the highway 3 miles from my house telling me to turn down gravel roads and the most unfriendly rv trails on the planet
Trip Navigation
I guess the GPS function is nice when traveling with an RV in terms of height and weight restrictions. The trip wizard function doesn’t allow you to see a pre planned route unless you start the navigation. In terms of looking for fuel… you can’t. You aren’t able to see anything in the trip wizard unless you already know the location. You also can’t select any fuel stops while navigating during your trip. Fuel station stops are just as important as the route itself.

Great app
Great app for planning your RV trips.
App not ready for prime PAID use
This app would be ok back in 2000s, but 25 years later one would expect more, especially for paid service. Here is a list of features all other FREE GPS apps have.
Live traffic data updates with option to seek alternative routes.
Option to seek POI while road guidance is active.
While in active GPS route, no option to zoom in or out (other than pinch) or set zoom, no potion to rotate map north or drive north.
Route feedback is limited to only few obstacles.
Once route is active, no option to switch to other menus.
Creating trips requires separate web based site and is counter intuitive it makes you wanna cry. Once you create trips, editing starting point or adding POI isn’t available.
Mobile internet site will not access GPS to select starting point for the trip.
The list of missing basic GPS navigation tools is so long that they should pay me to use it instead.
So safe your money and find something else.
To the developers, I have low expectations of you reading it and implementing the missing features as it would require you to rewrite this app from the beginning. Instead you pray on suckers like me to subscribe (for a one month).

The GPS…
It sucks since the last so called update. Before the latest iPad app update, I could view my entire Trip Wizard route on the map from within the app. After the update, the Map tab only shows the Explore map with campground icons and no option to display my active trip. The same trip displays correctly in Safari at Trip Wizard. Please restore the in-app trip planning map.

Can’t get help
Trip routing doesn’t take towing into account
We just signed up for Pro and so far, I’m disappointed. At least 2 of our routes were down narrow and winding roads not appropriate for a 54’ vehicle. What’s frustrating is there is no way to indicate a tow vehicle such as a boat, and this makes a big difference in safe routing due to turning radius. It would seem like a small enhancement with big impact. We can’t be the only ones dealing with long tow vehicles.

This app took us directly through New York City causing us to sit in 3 hours of traffic when we specifically got the app to try to find a route on the outskirts. Made our trip way more difficult than it needed to be.

Questionable RV routes
I bought rv life because I needed an rv gps for our new to us Tiffin. It is a taller rv than we are used to and wanted to make sure we were taking the safest routes. We used it in conjunction with Apple Maps and Google Maps. We are planning on getting the garmin gps unit, but didn’t have time before our two week trip. We thought rv life would suffice for one trip. Boy were we wrong! It took us down winding one lane roads, narrow roads not wide enough for an rv, and many many roads with low hanging trees. It was constantly taking us in different routes than the other two maps and when we followed the rv life route, we ended up on the wrong kinds of roads. Following the other routes were way more helpful. The only thing rv life did was make sure there were no low bridges on our route. The app seems to think that as long as a road doesn’t have a low bridge, it must be safe for an rv. A one land road exactly paved exactly 8’ wide with a cliff on one side and nowhere to go if another vehicle of any kind comes from the opposite direction is not my idea of a safe rv road. The other thing that was incredibly annoying about this app is that when we were out of cell range, it wouldn’t load the maps even though I downloaded all the maps I needed. It would tell me it couldn’t load a route because I needed to have the map downloaded when I was offline even though I’d go to the map and it wears already downloaded. How is that helpful? The whole reason I made sure to download the maps is because I wasn’t sure which places we were going to would have sufficient cell service. It’s not worth the $20/month to me and I canceled my subscription as soon as we got home.

BEWARE DO NOT DOWNLOAD
Tried the app for the 7 day free trial, cancelled on 6th day and was charged any ways. Customer service told me to take it up with Apple. If this is how they do business I can’t trust the information in their app to not also be suspicious.
Updated views
The new updated views are more difficult to navigate and look very messy.
