Not as advertised

I have used it for three trips and every trip it is not worked for more than an hour. If you use any connection to your truck it will lower the volume and when you get a notice it kicks off line. You cannot see gas stations on the map while driving. Or anything.

The fuel tho

I really like the app. My one complaint is entering fuel. The app tries to automatically calculate your fuel consumption and there’s no way to override the numbers.

Please just let me put in my fuel info without the grayed out fields.

Route map

When using the RVLife app you can no longer view a map of your planned route. This is a new change and, in my opinion, it was a big mistake. In order to see a route map you have to use have to use the web version.

So far it’s okay

I travel full time but haven’t used this app very long. One thing I’ve noticed is that I get a LOT of notifications. And while there are many options to select which notifications to receive, all of mine are off except to remind me to download offline trips so I don’t know why I’m still getting them to read the newsletter and whatnot. I don’t want to turn them at the System level so hopefully this bug gets fixed.

Terrible Map Updating

The app says map updates are needed but start but never end. Tired to keep on starting from the beginning and having the update stall half way through. Shouldn’t be happening with an app that comes with a premium price. Disappointed!

Extremely unsafe

My family and I just finished a 27 day road trip. This app lead us on multiple extremely dangerous routes, closed roads and even demanded a U-turn. Do not trust the routes they suggest. Multiple times we faced unsafe conditions and roads with no rv to vehicles over x ft.
DO NOT TRUST THIS APP.

RVGps is difficult at best! Not RVSAFE!!!

Yesterday RV LIFE GPS brought us on the steepest, windiest, narrow mountain road to go from CA 101 to Santa Paula, CA.
Road very unsafe and narrow for our big rig. It looked like it brought us on a very dangerous short cut.
We knew something was weird when we exited the Bellinson VC of Santa Monica to the left, when we came in from the right. That turn onto Mulholland Dr was also extremely curvy and mountainous & longer than the way we came in off 101.
Rt 23 towards Simi Valley was a good road
160 & Balcom Canyon Rd were horrendous & where the dangerous road started. My husband drove 18 wheelers, so his driving skills are not the problem.

Terrible app

This app had me go down multiple dead end roads, dirt roads and directed me off main roads. I had all of the correct settings, but on a 2,000 mile trip, it was not worth it at all! $20 a month gives you no clear advantages.

Really useful

It took us a little bit to get the hang of it, but we’ve since created two trips with one being a month long. We really like the trip wizard options for not only suggesting nearby campgrounds on our route, but also the capability to keep track of expenses and gas mileage.

Great information

A lot of good information easy to use. Is it all the time?

Not worth the money

I have canceled my renewal of this app as it has been a disappointment and is not user friendly, especially trip wizard.

Rv Life GPS and Wizard

Just not very user friendly on the road. Real time research is not near as easy as Apple or Google maps. I find if you can build a trip in the wizard and stick to the agenda it is pretty good. But making changes on the road is wonky at best. Researching on the go is not helpful. Often we need to make changes due to site availability and road fatigue and usually just switch to Apple or Google maps. I also found my vehicle profile doesn’t transfer when building a new trip. Just feel like the overall product could be much better.

Terrible two times

Tried it once last year and it took us down some sketchy paths in New York City that we wouldn’t clear. Good thing it was the middle of the night and we could backup.

Second time it had us leave the freeway to take a side street just to get back on the freeway. The first time it told us to make a U-turn! It did that to us a couple of times. Then it took us down the backroads with narrow roads and low hanging trees. Then a sketchy turn down a single lane two-way road and an extreme turn over a bridge that we are too heavy for and would not clear the turn.

A local Good Samaritan helped us safely loop around. When we came back and ignored the navigation the time to destination switched from 10 minutes to 1 minute!!!

This takes you down some of the worst paths even when you have all of your data in the system.

This might be good for tunnel clearances and hazmat restrictions, otherwise this app is a complete waste of time and money.

I will be seeking compensation from the developers for the damages I’ve incurred due to the sketchy navigation.

GPS

Although I have used the gps every time I’ve pulled the rig - my most recent experience was very bad. AR7 from Branson to Russellville AR is not a good one for pulling a rig. It is very narrow, very hilly, curvy, and although scenic it’s not good for a big rig. Because of these issues we had one wheel go off the pavement and nearly flipped the rig. We were stranded 40 miles from Russellville and had to wait days for a Mobil tech. We had no service without driving far down the road. Had to use a borrowed land line to get any help.

That Voice!

I can’t get out of the driveway listening to that voice. Can’t use it. Sorry!

Initial take

So it has what appears to be great features. However the software is pretty buggy. I’m using Linux on my desktop and the map keeps sticking in one place. Thinking maybe it was Linux I installed it on my IPad. Oh my goodness! It is worse! It freezes, locks up, screen goes white. I. Hopeful things get better.
I’m sooo frustrated with his program. It is NOT user friendly. You guys really need to take a step back and get input from new users. Can’t start a new trip enroute. Can’t delete current trip.

Terrifying!

We were terrified today when we realized the RV Life app was navigating our 13’6” rig to go under a bridge that was less than 12’. My husband saved the day. We are new to RV Life and don’t plan to stay with this app.

Very hard to use

Fee to access

They should be up front about the fee. The app is free but not the service
