There needs to be a key
For planning in advance, it really needs a key to highlight and indicate BLM land. Not very useful otherwise
Confusing to use
The functionality of this app is frustrating. Maybe it’s better used when you are already in a place, but it’s not very user friendly for researching an area where you hope to go on account of the downloading and reviewing process. Downloads are by name and the full names of the maps are cut off so you don’t know exactly what you’re downloading. The display of what was downloaded is then indicated by sections of the map that become less detailed. You can zoom in for the detailed downloaded maps but by the time you’ve zoomed in to see the detail it’s difficult to determine where on the map you are looking. Compared to other map apps, this one is kind of worthless for pre-trip research

Awesome offline mapper!
This app is an ideal companion to other free mapping applications. I will be using it for off-road touring/ overlanding.
S1 shows you exactly where you are on an open source, shaded relief map. Similar to MAPS.ME, the base map has many of the BLM/FS two-tracks that I’ve traveled on in Central/SE Oregon. However, I’m not sure if the base map is available offline.
However, the big benefit of this app is the access to BLM/FS maps and the landownership status they provide. FOR FREE! Trespassing in the Western US (whether intentional or not) is a BIG NO NO. This app, when combined with other offline map apps, is essential for your backroad excursions.
Looking forward to the updates and extended map coverage outside of WA/OR.
