Didn’t help me.
Unhelpful service
It’s nice
It is a bit irritating that I have to constantly try scrolling down to see if they have responded, I think it’d be nice if it was fixed to be like normal messaging where the screen immediately scrolls down as soon as a message appears.
Thank you guys.

Glitchy/lack of response

Hi Elk deer, we're sorry to hear you had an unpleasant experience while interacting with one of our SafeUT counselors. If you would like to let us know more about the situation for further assistance, please feel free to email us at safeut@hsc.utah.edu.
Amazing Resource
When I did need it though, it was such an awesome tool to have for free at my fingertips. I was skeptical if this app was even made for the type of issue I had; turns out the counselors want to help you with whatever you need (shocker).
I’m very grateful for this app and everyone behind it, and I hope you will take the time to download it, and who knows, maybe it will eventually save your life.

Empathy without desire to provide perspective
However, I cannot reccomend this for anyone who needs more help than a few empathetic apologies. Those providing support on the app are usually kind, but often overlook questions of directions to take. The most that they will offer is short term coping mechanisms, and this has a potent way of making me feel like they’re trying to get rid of me as fast as possible.
Within the more than 10 conversations I’ve had using this, only once have I felt genuinely better after chatting. So, of course, it’s a matter of who is sitting across from you.
However, when it comes to mental health, one wrong roll of the dove can make a huge impact.
