On Your Wrist, On Your Own NEW Race without your phone. Switch the watch to Standalone and it runs the whole start sequence on its own — countdown, whistle, haptics, spoken time. The race records on your wrist and lands in your history the next time the phone is near. Watch face complication. Your sequence, right on the face. Shows your preset when idle, counts down when it matters, and one tap opens the timer. Lock Screen countdown. The moment a sequence starts it appears on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, ticking to the second, and clears itself at the gun. Stop it without unlocking. Home Screen widget. Medium or large. Countdown, distance to the line, and one-tap PIN, BOAT and CLEAR, so you can set the line without opening the app. The whistle is on the watch. The same tone the phone plays, not a thin substitute for it. Save to Health, your call. Races write to Health as workouts properly now, and there is a switch in watch settings if you would rather they did not. FIXED The app no longer quits when you start the timer. This was the big one, and it turned out to be several separate faults wearing the same coat. The watch no longer freezes — not when you open it, and not mid-race. "NO IPHONE" is gone on connections that were working the whole time. The countdown starts when you press start. It could previously look like it began up to half a minute late. Phone and watch agree on the clock. The watch used to sit about two seconds behind. Standalone stays selected instead of springing back to Paired, and watch buttons respond in Paired mode. Spoken cues say "forty five seconds" rather than "zero forty five". Your default countdown sticks. Nudging the clock for one race no longer rewrites the preset you saved. You stay signed in. Your account is no longer forgotten after a session. Races wait their turn. A race that has not made it off the phone yet is never dropped to make room for a newer one.
