What's New in SalarySnap

1.2

August 28, 2026

This update is about accuracy. The payday countdown now understands bank holidays, and Payslip Audit is much more careful about what it flags. Payday: • The payday countdown now skips bank holidays as well as weekends, so a last-working-day payday lands on the right date • Separate bank holiday calendars for England & Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, so St Patrick's Day, the Battle of the Boyne and Scotland's own dates are all accounted for • Choose your nation in Settings under Payday, or let SalarySnap follow your tax region • Bank holidays are worked out on your device from the official rules, so future years are covered and nothing leaves your phone • Fixed the widget saying "3 days to payday" on a Friday that was actually payday, because the Monday after it was a bank holiday • The payday widget now celebrates with "Payday!" on the day itself instead of counting down to zero Payslip Audit, with far fewer false alarms: • Deductions are now matched against real payslip labels, so a health insurance premium is no longer read as National Insurance • Anything SalarySnap does not recognise is treated as another deduction instead of being forced into a tax category • Expected income tax now uses the tax code printed on your payslip, including 0T, BR, D0, D1 and K codes and their W1/M1/X variants • The tax code in your settings is used only as a clearly labelled assumption, and only when your payslip does not show one • Your pension contribution is confirmed against your payslip rather than compared to a default rate, so paying in more than the default is no longer flagged as a problem • Every line now shows how confident SalarySnap is (verified, assumed or not verified), and only verified lines count towards the headline result • An "overpaying £X a year" figure now appears only when it was worked out from figures read off your payslip • When neither tax nor National Insurance can be verified, SalarySnap says so rather than implying your payslip looks correct • Better at reading the tax code and pay period from a photographed payslip Plus: • A new app icon that adapts to light mode, dark mode and tinted Home Screens • Pick a different app icon in Settings under Appearance if you prefer a fixed light or dark look • Stability improvements and minor fixes throughout
