This is consistently one of the worst performing apps on my phone. I canceled my sub because all i can read are author bios and I’m paying 120 bucks a year for this. Update: 2 years later and it’s still not fixed. Canceling subscription. Of course there is no support. They don’t respond to mere mortals, I guess

Shut down
When reading an article the app arbitrarily shuts down. I have rebooted and found that this doesn’t correct the problem.
Poorly Functioning App
The last time this app was updated was 2 YEARS ago. Many complaints about app issues with no response from developers. Subscription is too expensive for this cr@p app.

It stays on for about 10 seconds then shuts down.
App does not load
I’m a subscriber and I am ready to cancel my subscription because the app does not load. I can read Salon on my desktop but I really miss reading it on my phone. Not sure how much longer I can remain a subscriber. I am not sure Salon cares.
It just straight up doesn't work
I have a subscription. The App just shows the headline of any given article and some author info when clicked. I've deleted and re-installed it. I've tried when logged out and when logged in. Being able to read articles is kinda the whole point.

Content doesn’t load
The app opens to a white display and stays that way. Content doesn’t load. iPhone 13 IOS 16.3.
Great News on iPhone
The iPad app is a piece. I have a subscription, but can’t use it on the iPad. There is no issue using it on the iPhone, but iPad…different story.
When attempting to login the app consistently says the login is incorrect, which I know to be false. Terrible. Deserves 0 stars on iPad.

Salon has good articles, but the app and it’s portrait orientation only are so annoying that I stopped using it and deleted the app, besides, what do I need an app for when I can just go to their web site on Safari.
Constantly crashes
Love the writing - unfortunately the app constantly crashes not matter how up to date my OS is it the app is. Frustrating as heck.
One sided news
They don’t even try to cover the news. It is very clear where they stand on politics.
Orientation
Most iPad covers open so the iPad is in the landscape mode. This app either doesn’t sense that or will not rotate to that. Makes reading difficult with a cover that opens like a book cover in portrait mode
Great website, awful app
The app is completely pointless as it gives you a handful of free articles before hitting a paywall, which is ridiculous since all the articles on the website are always free. I deleted the app after a few days and just navigate to the website now.

Absolute rubbish news site now calling corona virus racist and it’s once again whites to blame , now blacks who partied when the virus was wrecking havoc , you should be ashamed of yourself , absolute garbage racist reporting ...
