Horrible library system

If you are unlucky enough to live in San Mateo County and doomed to use the services of this horrible county library system that is so inept and wasteful with taxpayer money using such apps as O'Reilly which doesn't work, you are not alone.

This is like the DMV of County library systems.

You're not a customer. Not a patron. You're a victim.

What a shameful waste of taxpayer money by apathetic incompetent bureaucrats.

adding a queue

The app is great, but other library apps I have used that are similar have a queue you can see for holds & waitlists. Would be stoked to see that in the next update!

Passwords don’t work

I’ve been using this app for years, but suddenly the login doesn’t work. I can’t login using my library card and pin. My credentials work on the website, just not in the app. I even reset my pin, deleted and redownloaded the app… but it doesn’t work. It’s been like this for months now.

Multi-filter searching!

The app has been overhauled to include many more features. My favorites are:

Searching with multiple filters!!!

If you have hold books ready for pick up, a banner shows at the top of the app homepage.

No longer works

Type any word in search and it comes up empty. "No items matched your search terms"
Does not work

Near perfect app

Almost all the features one could think of are available in the app and quite conveniently at that.

No back feature in iPad version

Unlike the iPhone version, the iPad version has no way to go back from any selection. If you need to go back, you have to quit the app. Very frustrating.

Brilliant app

Every single feature I wanted is included in the app and is very convenient to use.

Good except....

I use the app a lot. Mostly to place holds and use the library card. I often place a book on hold when I really just want to put it on my list. Website provides a list function but not the app.

Very annoying

This app let’s you listen to books for free when it’s available through your library. That’s great, but every time you stop listening to a book, the app rewinds itself to some random spot in the book. It is super super annoying.

Great app, but bugs

The app has lately been logging myself and my family out forcing us to re-Enter our card info. Defeats the purpose of the ecard.

Please allow us to add things to wish list from app.

Also, allow for switching between family members.

Love not having to carry my card, scan ISBNs, being able to place holds directly from app.

Good could be great

UI is much more intuitive than the previous version. There are a few extra features that could be added to make the app even better than the website.

1. Search feature should have as many filter features available as the website (I.e. fiction/non-fiction, audience, etc.) to make searching for specific types of books easier rather than scrolling through a large list of books.

2. Pop up notifications: used to tell when books are almost due and holds that are ready

3. Apple Wallet Card: Like someone else had mentioned. Would make checking out quicker rather than opening the app each time.

Bug:

-Scan ISBN: If you open the scan option then hit cancel, the app freezes with a transparent black color over the main page. Have to tap around the screen several times for it to disappear.

Pay fines feature doesn't work.

Which is too bad, because I want to give them my money.

Elegant

Used to renew books via web, a bit awkward. The app makes the process much more pleasant. Like the elegant ui

Decent, but is missing some key features

The app is pretty nice and it is stable, but it would be nice for there to be a few extra features. For one, it would be nice to receive notifications when holds arrive at your library. Also, it would be nice to add the ecard to Apple wallet for quick and easy access. But overall, it is a good app that should suit the needs of most people.
