Ixpandbase won’t connect at all to my iPhone 8 for file backup
Hello there, my name is Joseph, and I’ve been experiencing an issue with my Ixpand base recently. Last night, I tried to back up my files to it, but a message popped up while I was on the file screen where I normally go to backup my files. I am fairly certain that the message I received was not the “ixpand base not connected” error. I’ve done all the troubleshooting steps, minus disconnecting the sd card (which seems impossible to get out, due to the fact that it seems to be stuck far into the slot fo it) what can I do to fix this? Please help me out...

Didn’t work very long
Have followed all troubleshooting guidance, but the app fails to recognize the device. Nothing on device itself to verify whether it is functional. Far too much money for a paperweight!!!

Restore scrambles your camera roll
I used the iXpand base to back all 6000+ photos on an iphone7 and an iPad Pro. After deleting my photos I attempted to restore them again. It did but but the file names and dates were changed putting everything into a big random mess. The camera roll is all random. You can still use Photos option to display the original date and time but since new file names were given when I run the backup again it creates duplicates of all my photos again doubling the photos backed up every time!! Also after successful backup of my iPad-pro it would never connect to my iPad again ! The backups are fast that is the only good thing about it!
I waited a year for an updated app that would fix the problems with my iPad. Support had already replaced the iXpand base via RMA with the latest firmware, and still doesn’t work. It charges fine when I plug in the usb but that is all. The updated app still does not see the base when it is connected. Just and expensive iPad charger. The updated app says it added iOS 13 support, running now on my iPhone XR and iPad. Neither work now.
Wait a year for an update and now it doesn’t work at all. I’ve lost all my backups thanks to this garbage! I give it negative 5 stars

Crashes
iPhone 8 running 13.1.1 starts then promptly crashes. I guess it doesn’t work well on iOS 13.

This app keeps crashing regardless of how many times I plug my phone in.
Not compatible
Since updating my iphone to IOS13, this base no longer functions. I called tech support and was told the engineer is working on it 🤔. What the heck am I to do in the meantime?!? The engineer did not anticipate a newer operating system??? Really?!?

Remove this product... Sandisk Ixpand Base
I can say worst gift I’ve ever received the Sandisk Ixpand Base. I emailed Sandisk in 2018 when I got this mess, took ever step they suggested. I said lets give it sometime and maybe they will come up with a fix. I was wrongggggg. It goes thru the process but no pictures appearing on the ipad. Getting the same message and same blah blah blah. “Backup was not able to finish! Please try again later”. 6 months later nothing changed. Amazing how it will work on one Apple product but not the other when both are listed as comparable and running 12.3.1. I would not suggest anyone purchase the Sandisk Ixpand Base non give it as a GIFT.

Will never buy another SanDisk product
Only 3 or 4 months into purchasing the product, and it already says I’m not connected. That’s after trying ALL of their troubleshooting solutions TWICE EACH! Frustrated beyond belief. But that’s fine. There are better companies, that actually care about their end products, out there.

Great backup device
I am really enjoying this because I found photos on my phone I didn’t know I had! You can pop the sd card into a computer and pictures are sorted by year and month. The initial backup was slow so expect it to take several days if you have a lot of data like I did. Overall I’m super pleased.

Everyone that gave 1-2 stars, read the license agreement before you use the app or software maybe then you won’t complain when something doesn’t work exactly as you expect it to.
My question is, where does everything get backed up to? The license agreement, the information page, everything that I’ve looked at I cannot find where my pictures and messages will be uploaded and stored to.
I know when I back up my iPhone it goes to the iCloud but when I back up using this application where does it back up to?

Glitches.. ☹️
I have iPhone 7 with IOS 12.01, and experiencing glitches. I open the app then immediately closes. I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, rebooting phone.. but no luck. Please assist. Thanks
