About

Satrelle Planner shows you exactly how the stars will move before you ever press the shutter. Set your place, time, and lens, then watch the star trails arc across the frame so you can plan the shot with confidence. Three ways to plan: 2D PLANNER (free) Pick a location, date, and exposure length, then see the trails curve around the celestial pole for your camera and focal length. The Sun and Moon are shown too, at the Moon's real phase, so you know when and where they will be. PHOTO OVERLAY (free) Load a photo you already took and Satrelle lines the trails up using the photo's own location and time, so you can preview a longer exposure or a different framing. LIVE AR SKY (Satrelle Pro) Point your phone at the sky and see the trails overlaid on your live camera in real time, day or night. Match your real camera and focal length, pinch to set your lens, and save a clean preview image to share. Built for photographers, honestly: - Real astronomy from an 8,400 star catalog, not a gimmick - Accurate Sun and Moon positions, with the current Moon phase - Frame to your exact camera and focal length - Save clean preview images with your settings and the Satrelle mark - Everything runs on your device. Nothing is collected or sent anywhere. Free to plan in 2D and to overlay your own photos. Satrelle Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks the live AR sky and camera matching. No subscription. Satrelle Planner is the mobile companion to Satrelle for Mac, the star-trail app for serious nightscape work.

What's New in Satrelle Planner

1.1.0

July 21, 2026

Two new tools for the field, both free. - Exposure. Match any exposure you have already metered. Choose what to solve for, shutter, aperture, or ISO, enter your test shot and the two settings you want to keep, and read the setting that puts you back at the same brightness. Stack ND filters for long daytime work and it does the reciprocity math for you. - Spot Stars. Find the longest shutter that still keeps the stars as points, by the classic 500 rule or the sharper resolution-aware NPF rule. Dial in your lens, sensor, and where you are pointing, then send the result straight into Exposure as your shutter. - Plus small polish throughout. Clear skies!
