FAQ

What does Sauntering Verse do?

Sauntering Verse generates Dadaist poetry based on your current physical location. As you move, the app creates new poetic interpretations using unique word combinations assigned to different areas of the globe.

How does the app create poetry?

The app uses a system similar to latitude and longitude, but with three-word combinations for 3x3 meter areas. It then randomly combines these words in a Dadaist spirit, inspired by cutting up newspaper articles and reassembling the words.

Is Sauntering Verse free to use?

Yes, the application is available for free. There are no in-app purchases or advertisements mentioned.

What is the purpose of using location for poetry?

The app leverages the unique word combinations assigned to every location on Earth to create poetry that is intrinsically tied to your surroundings. This offers a novel way to experience and interpret the world through art and language.

Can I create the same poem twice?

No, in the true Dadaist spirit, the interpretations created by Sauntering Verse are unique to your location and are designed to never be the same each time you generate them.
