Alternative use
As the name implies, this app is an easy-to-use tool for documenting auto, home and other equipment maintenance specifications and parts. I decided to use it for an alternative purpose - to create a catalog of our botanical garden. Our recently purchased Costa Rican home Costa Rica has a botanical garden that is over an acre in size with a currently unknown number of plants. When conducting video tours of the grounds, people would often ask for specifics about the various plants, of which I had no knowledge. I decided to create a catalog of everything, with a full understanding that this is going to be a long process. As for the app, I am using it in conjunction with Microsoft Copilot. Copilot identifies the plant via photo and provides information about it. I use the app to categorize, add photos, tags etc. The app is very easy to use and allows me to cut and paste details into the various fields. I have categorized 30 different plants so far and that’s just scratching the surface. I purchased the lifetime subscription for a reasonable price so that I can maintain this catalog. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention how amazing the results are. I start with a picture and the formal name, and then add details. I use category to capture the location, tags to capture common or alternative names, specs to identify plant types (succulents, shrubs, flowering tropical etc.), and other information within the additional information field. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results! I highly recommend this app!
