Say & Read: Kids Learn to Read

Your child talks to the phone, and their own words appear on the screen in big friendly letters. They tap a word and a fun voice reads it out loud. Then they read it too. That is the whole game, and children love it because the words are theirs. Kids learn to read fastest from language they already own, which is the heart of a classroom method called the Language Experience Approach. Say & Read turns whatever your child just said into their own first reading lesson. And when they are ready for someone else's words, twelve classic stories are waiting. HOW IT WORKS Hold the big button and say anything at all. "My dog is silly." "I want a red bike." The words appear on screen, one at a time. Tap any word to hear it out loud. Tap it again. Tap all of them. Tap New and do the whole thing again with something else. There is nothing to read before you start, because every single word is one tap away from being read aloud. READ REAL STORIES TOGETHER Twelve nursery rhymes and classic tales are built in, sorted easiest to hardest so your child can climb. Beginner: Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Row, Row, Row Your Boat. Humpty Dumpty. Jack and Jill. Level 2: The Itsy Bitsy Spider. Mary Had a Little Lamb. The Tortoise and the Hare. The Gingerbread Man. Level 3: The Three Little Pigs. Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The Three Billy Goats Gruff. The Little Red Hen. One line per page, tap any word to hear it, swipe to turn the page. BUILT FOR BEGINNING READERS Words mode: tap a word, hear the whole word. Letters mode: tap a single letter, hear its name, and sound the word out together. Big, clear type set in Andika, a typeface drawn for children who are learning to read. Capital or lowercase letters, whichever your child knows best. Three voices to pick from: Luna, Milo, and Robo the robot. Six worlds to play in: unicorns, race cars, stars, flowers, sports, or calm plain cream. IT KNOWS YOUR CHILD'S NAME Type your child's name once. The app greets them by it, listens for it when they say it, and always spells it right. A child's own name is usually the very first word they ever want to read. PRIVACY YOU CAN ACTUALLY TRUST Everything happens on the device. Your child's voice is turned into text by speech recognition built into the app itself, and it never leaves your phone. No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking of any kind. The app works completely offline, in airplane mode, in the car. We collect nothing at all. NO PRESSURE, NO TIMERS No scores, no streaks, no buzzers, nothing that beeps at your child for getting something wrong. Just their words, a warm voice, and all the time they need to try. Say & Read is made for children roughly 3 to 6 who are starting to recognize letters and words, and it is best used sitting next to a grown-up.
