No good

I was expecting something substantially better, however although it scans the symbols efficiently, I have yet to get a successful link to the products I scan. Bull.

Use to be good

Use to use this app all the time, past year or so it hasn't been usable, won't ever scan

It is great!!

U can't scan bar codes on like items from the store or stuff like that... But u can scan things like If u get a otterbox there is a code that directs u to there website. If u want this app for that than its a great app

Crashes

Doesn't load or bring up what's scanned...don't waste ur time

WAS a really nice 2D barcode scanner!

What's with all the personal information required now? I just want a simple, no-frills QR decoder, with a scan history... and NOT something that auto-processes every scan without showing me the contents of the QR code.

Previous review: I like that this 2D barcode scanner does NOT require a network connection to decode stuff! A lot of "free" scanners out there require a connection to the net so they can track everything that is scanned. I put my iPhone in Airplane Mode and was able to able to scan and decode a variety of sample QR codes I found online (via a Google Images search).

Note that this is NOT a 1D barcode scanner (nor does it claim to be), so it does not scan UPC codes on products, for example.

At first, my only complaint was that the app attempted to immediately "process" whatever you scanned. (If you scan a QR code that has a URL, it switches to Safari and opens it.) However, in the Settings app, you can set "Confirm Actions" to "On" (it defaults to off) and now it prompts "Open URL?" which is better, but I'd still prefer a mode where it just decodes the QR code and displays it — without any "action" prompt at all. Just show me the contents of the code and let me click the "Follow Link" or "Add Contact" button, etc.

Note that some sample QR codes (which looked to be pretty dense) that I found via Google Images search crashed the app.

Deleted

With the latest update came the requirement to enter personal information - deleted this app

Doesn't work

Held it over the code and waited - and waited - and waited.

And to the person who says it'us not for barcodes, I KNOW THAT --- I tried it over the kind of square code it IS for, and nothing ever happens.

Works every time!

I don't know what problems other people encountered with this software.
I use it on my iPhone 4 and it works very fast and very reliable, even with printed, poorly scaled down patterns.
Can't fail the interface either: it just works.
Better than any other of the dozen or so apps I have tried.

Maybe it isn't quite clear: this is for QR Code ONLY. It doesn't read any other code.

Thank you to the developer for making this available!

Impressed

Really impressed with the simplicity of this AP. Once the majority of mainstream business get into these codes - it will be so easy to get information into our phones! I have a invx code on the back of my business card and loaded it with basic contact information for my business and - tested this ap - it worked perfect!

Once the image is in focus - it snaps the pic and you're off and running. Very fast.

Impressive.

Doesn't work with 3g phone

Tried this with allsorts of barcodes (this is the only one working with 3.1.3) & never got it to work yet.maybe due to the crappy camera in the iPhone 3G.

Easily my favourite QR scanner

Out of an ever growing pile of QR scanners available today I have chosen Scanit to use with my iPhone 4. Unlike other reviewers I haven't had any technical problems scanning a code with this app, it has delivered rapidly every time. Scanit's simple yet elegant design wins my vote as best scanner software. It is easy to use, looks good and provides all the flexibility needed to deal with information collected. Compared with other contenders in this field Scanit may seem to some to be under featured but in my opinion many features available in other apps actually add nothing helpful to the process. K.I.S.S.

It does NOT work

It does Not work
It just wastes time trying to scan the code without success
I would give it zero stars I'd I could!

Works Great

It scans all QR codes perfectly! It's not meant for barcodes so I'm sure I can guess why everyone is having trouble

Does not scan, what a joke.

This does not scan anything. Any rating above one star are from the creator trying to bump up product. It does nothing but focus.

Only focuses

Doesn't do anything else but focus, it doesn't scan a damn thing!

Great app! Needs vCard support.

Add vCard support, and it's the best freeware QR scanner! Nevertheless the bottom buttons' dark grey shades look crappy ;-)
Pros: ready to scan right after launch, very snappy, no need to push shot button, has almost all formats support.

I hope to see the update soon.

Non functional

Non functioning app. The scan button does nothing. Awful UI. Don't bother with it.

Junk

All it will do is focus on the barcode. Won't scan or do anything else. Even though it's free, it's a complete waste of time

Works For 3.1.2

I like it cause I dont have to upgrade to 4.0 like the rest of the scan apps. I don't like 4.0 features and am keeping 3.1.2 thank you very much.

Not working for me

Bought the app on my iPhone 4, will not scan, won't do a thing but focus. Tried resetting phone, deleted app the uploaded again, same result. Waiting to see if I get a response from the creators.
