It doesn't work
The alphabet doesn't come up, you can't add texts or recordings to the hotspots... It looks like a lite app.
Good idea but....
I cannot get the alphabet keyboard to come up. Only the number and emoji keyboards are available.
One of the Best Comprehensive Apps for Special Needs
I'm the parent of two children with special needs, and originally, I purchased this app for my 5 year old, who is diagnosed with Autism and Apraxia, to help him learn to use assistive technology to navigate in everyday settings. However, I've found that it's not only great for functional usage (at a fraction of the cost of apps out there that have far fewer features) but I can make detailed and personalized interactive storybooks within this app that can include my child in his favorite stories (or make up my own using personal photos). We absolutely love this app, and would recommend it to ANY parent of a small child who wishes to make creative and interactive books, as well as any individual who might have limited verbal skills. GREAT app...thank you again, Good Karma!

Great app for Visual Scene Display
Having recently heard a presentation on research showing the benefits of Visual Scene Display AAC with babies, toddlers, and preschoolers (and for older kids who are functioning at that level), I was happy to find this reasonably priced app. I have found it easy to use. There are options to use your own photos or use an Internet search to find images. Images can be arranged into books. I took photos from a book and made interactive scenes for my non verbal students-- much more engaging than a traditional gridded AAC display! I am an SLP but I think this app would also be useful for special Ed teachers and parents of non-verbal and low verbal children and for professionals working in early intervention.

Major update problems
I'm an SLP who uses this app in conjunction with medical staff for pain management in adults with ID. I'm currently using it on approximately 15 iPads. Following recent updates, all of my installations are broken. My sound areas are gone, my library has been cleared, and the app won't let me create new VSDs. The only thing that has fixed it is to delete the app & reinstall it, then totally reprogram it. This would be FAR easier and less time consuming if the iCloud backup actually worked, but I haven't been able to do anything with it other than lock up the app.
The app used to be solid (if time-intensive to program), but the face that an update wiped all of my data and that the iCloud backup doesn't work seems absurd to me. Maybe I'm the only person having this issue, but v2.01 has been nothing but a huge headache for me.
I hope that the issues I've had are going to be resolved. Until then I'll be desperately trying to reprogram as fast as possible to keep the iPads available for pain management.

Awesome App
Thanks Good Karma for coming up with another awesome app.
Great customer service
Another great Good Karma application. The versality is awesome, it it is easy to use and customizable. My daughter spends way to much time at the doctor's office so this is her favorite room.
Scene Speak
I love this app and found it wasn't hard to figure out the ends and outs of the app. But if you don't have wireless take the email address or web address and you can contact them via internet from a computer or laptop. There's always more than one way to reach someone if you really need the help. :-)
You will find that the developer is most happy to help and also listens to their customers suggestions and ideas as well. I do know that manuals are in the works but in the mean time send an email with your questions and you will receive any help you need.

Poor directions
This needs in app directions. The (I) info only takes you to the website and most my schools are not wireless. Directions on the website are not accurate and going between a project and online directions I lost my project. The directions to take pictures from google images did not work, I was not able to select full size nor save them to my scenes. Unless I missed it in the poor directions there appears to be no finished sample boards so I pay 9.99 and I need to put in a fair amount of time to create something before I can even get started with this. The concept is awesome, I want to take pictures and create personalized scenes but I cannot get one scene completed after more than an hour of messin around with this. For 9.99 I expect much more for money.scenes.

Confusing
This app is difficult to navigate. I wish I had purchased something more functional.
Great AAC for younger learners!
Easy to understand and customize, this app brings AAC to younger learners who struggle with more complex AAC apps.
Gret App
Scene Speak is an impressive app that offers the opportunity to communicate with visual scene displays for a very reasonable cost. The app is easy to use, the on-line tutorials are easy to follow and take very minimal time to get through. I was able to use the app easily and am easily able to make customized displays for simple, straight-forward communication. The developer has been very accessible and accommodating in ensuring successful use through her immediate response and asking questions on whether the app is meeting the needs of my clients. I highly recommend this app.

It is GREAT for speech students
I can only agree with other reviews on this app. This app is used in speech therapy to enhance language skills and provide a voive to my non-verbal students. I wrote the developer of the app and she gave me great tips to use with my students. I'm having the parents of my students email me photos of the house and all I do is upload them and add my speech buttons. This is a very useful app to special education period! Thank you for a great app!

The best
This app is the best. I love it. So many things you can do with it. Endless possibilities. The app creator is very helpful. You can create so much with this app. I can't get over all the things you can create and do on this.
A Great Communication App
This is a very reasonably priced app for all it can do. It is very versatile allowing you to use the pre-loaded scenes or the option to customize to your own needs. You can download your own photos or other images from the internet. The possibilities for developing language lessons are endless. As others have found, the developer is very supportive. My questions were addressed promptly and additional suggestions were given, which I found very helpful.

Great for non-verbal kids
This is a great customizable app to use for non-verbal kids. I love the what hurts as this has been a big issue for my son. I also love the books that we will now use at school to start narrations and stories to work on reading and comprehension. This one hits it out of the park in the many functional uses for my son! Thank you!,,

Many different uses
Was lucky enough to have this app gifted to me and I'm thrilled with it. I have a six year old boy with autism and we've labelled all the pre-loaded "rooms" in the house with my voice. We play a game where i say, "where do you brush your teeth?" and he can tap the sink in the bathroom picture and hear my voice say "sink". Lots of fun, great way to learn.
We also plan load to our own photos into the app's library and make choice boards. We will make a photo collage on the computer and load it into the app and voice-label everyone's face so my son can learn their names.
And finally, we're going to introduce the pre loaded "where does it hurt?" pic and try to show him a way for us to communicate about his aches and pains. So many possibilities!

Scene Speak is great!
As other reviewers have mentioned, this app is great and serves a variety of functions. It can be used to learn vocabulary, but also to communicate. Children can use the pictures to express ideas and make choices! The best part? It's customizable and users can upload real pictures and not be stuck with only cartoon images! Like other users mention, the developer is responsive to questions and also really works to improve the app based on user suggestions! When I suggested that the picture hot spots would work better if they could grow by either height or width and not always both, I was happy to find that they are already working on it! I love the app and I can't wait for the fine tuning!
