Thank you for your feedback. We understand that a subscription is not the right choice for everyone. For clarification for anyone reading this review: Screens is not advertised as a free app. Whether the App Store displays the button as “Get” is entirely determined by Apple. We have no control over that. The App Store also clearly indicates that Screens offers In-App Purchases before you download it. Screens requires a subscription to use, but we also offer a 7-day free trial that can be canceled at any time before it ends if you decide it’s not the right fit. While VNC is an open standard, a modern remote desktop app doesn’t build itself. We develop and maintain our own VNC implementation and continuously invest in features such as secure remote access, file transfers, Tailscale integration, support for Apple Vision Pro, and ongoing compatibility with new versions of macOS, iOS, and iPadOS. We strive to be transparent about our pricing so everyone can decide whether Screens is the right solution for them.

Not recommended if you use two Apple IDs
The subscription only works after I sign out of the App Store and switch back to the original Apple ID. This is extremely inconvenient and frustrating.
I’m planning to cancel my subscription because of this. If you use two Apple IDs, I strongly recommend not subscribing to this app. It is simply too painful to use in this situation.

Unfortunately, Apple currently doesn’t make that capability available to third-party developers, so it’s not something we can implement yet. As soon as Apple opens up the API, it’s definitely something we’d like to explore for Screens.
