About

Your seed phrase can't go in your will. In most places a will becomes a public court record once it goes through probate, so anyone can read it. Seal gives you a better place: sealed envelopes that open only if you go quiet for a long time and the people you trust agree it's time. WRITE THE ENVELOPES Write one envelope for each person. Put in a letter, photos, a voice message or a short video, your seed phrases, passwords and account details, and a step-by-step list of what to do first. If you type a seed phrase into the letter by mistake, Seal notices and offers to move it somewhere safer. HAND OUT THE KEYS Pick two or three people you trust to be key holders and give each one a small hardware security key, like a YubiKey. You choose the rule, for example "two of my three key holders." Key holders never see what is in your envelopes or who they are for. STAY IN TOUCH, THAT'S ALL Open Seal now and then, or tell Siri "Check in with Seal." That keeps everything closed. If you go silent longer than your rule allows, Seal warns you for weeks before anything happens. Then your key holders have to tap their keys in person. One check-in from you during that time stops it all. WHEN THE TIME COMES Once enough key holders tap their keys, your envelopes open on each person's own phone, in the order you chose. Secrets stay hidden until the person confirms with Face ID. MADE FOR COUPLES Set it up together. "Set up with my partner" walks you both through it, so each of you holds a key for the other and your family has a plan either way. BILLS AND MEDICAL Keep a second, separate set for things that can't wait: insurance, the mortgage, doctors, who feeds the dog. It has its own key holders and a shorter rule. Opening it opens none of your letters. BUILT SO NOBODY CAN PEEK - Everything is encrypted on your phone before it leaves. We can't read it and have no servers of our own to break into. Only locked data is stored, on Apple's iCloud servers. - Keys are wrapped with modern encryption, including a newer method designed to hold up against future quantum computers. - Your key holders confirm once a year that they still have their key, and you see who hasn't. - Every step is written into a signed record with timestamps. Each key holder can save a copy, and a free script checks it without the app, so your family isn't stuck if Seal is ever gone. - A printed page for each key holder explains what to do, with no secrets on it. - No ads, no tracking, no analytics. EVERYONE MEETS IN PERSON Recipients and key holders are added face to face, phone next to phone, with a tap of their key or Face ID. No usernames, phone numbers or contact lists. Nobody can slip into your plan remotely. HONEST LIMITS - Seal can't know that you died. It only knows you've been quiet. That's why the warnings are long: a long hospital stay looks the same from the outside. - Recipients need to be on Seal and meet you in person first. - Once your envelopes open, they can't be closed again. - Seal needs iCloud and a passkey or hardware security key. If you lose every key and have no backup key, your account can't be recovered. There is no email or text reset, because those are how accounts get stolen. - Apple's servers can see a few basics, like how many people get envelopes from you. Never who they are or what you wrote. - Seal is not a will and isn't legal advice. Keep your will for everything else. Your words, your keys, your people. Sealed until it matters.
