Will not connect via WiFi

Spent way too much time trying to get it to connect via WiFi. Totally frustrating and pathetic as probably no one at the company cares to support 2.0.

Trouble connecting

Can’t get it to connect with my iPhone but connects just fine with my wife’s android. Any suggestions on how to get it connected?

Doesn’t work

Don’t bother downloading until they update the app, does not work at all. Even ensured all local setting were on with the app. Just won’t connect to Camera.

SeaLife Micro Ca app

Not working for me. I have several ways to get the Wi-Fi to work on my iPad. Not happening!

What a terrible app

I’ve been using this app for two years and hate it as much as I did the first time.

All I want to do after every dive is download all pictures and videos to my phone and remove them as part of the process so the camera is ready for next dive.

There should be a one-click option to do that. Instead, you need to navigate through convoluted options hidden behind confusing icons and menus, make sure phone does not go to sleep during the download, otherwise the app forgets what you downloaded and best is to start again, then selecting everything so you can delete it is even more confusing. There is no progress indicator showing the overall download progress, only progress for every item. Who designed this?!!!

And who uses the remote shutter button? This is an underwater camera and you don’t take your phone under water. What a waste of development effort. Instead a little bit of effort should have gone to improving user experience.

This app is very frustrating

The camera takes pretty great video but just ok photos. Not having a strobe leaves the pictures grainy and soft focused. The best results come from screenshots while shooting video.

The App is super slow, unreliable, crashes, doesn’t work the see way each time... sometimes you can delete pics and videos from the camera, sometimes it takes multiple attempts. If you let your phone or iPad sit idle while downloading the screen will close then you have to start over again. I find myself having to keep wiggling my thumb on the screen while downloading in order to keep it “alive”. It’s a time killer. Sometimes the pics and videos download rather quick, other times they go very slow. I even put the camera right next to my phone and get different results all the time. It’s really finicky.

The camera needs to be set up each time you use it too. The best part of this system is the spotlight that came with it.

The app developers really should fix some of the bugs. I have not seen any updates.

Response from developer

Hi Doug, Thank you for your review and comments. We can help overcome the issues you describe. For WiFi app connection speed and reliability, it can take time to download larger 4K videos and a high quantity of photos. Have you considered making a wired connection between the camera and your phone? It is very fast. Check out section 9 of the online troubleshooting. https://www.sealife-cameras.com/micro3-0-troubleshooting-and-technical-updates/. We can also help improve the photo sharpness. Please email us a few photo examples and we will follow up with you at info@sealife-cameras.com. Thank you.

Awful app for a great camera

It is so frustrating to be able to take awesome underwater photos with my SeaLife Micro 2.0 & then be let down by this clunky, out-of-date app. When on a dive trip I like to download my dive photos to my iPad daily for viewing on a hi-res screen. This app makes it time consuming & difficult. The WiFi connection takes several tries due to the app freezing, requiring reboots. Then once the connection is made it is necessary to manually select each new photo from that day to upload- otherwise the app will upload the previous day’s photos as well, creating many duplicates. It is hard for me to understand how SeaLife can design such an easy-to-use underwater camera, and then tolerate an app as awkward as this one. I can tell from other reviews I’m far from alone. Please get some new developers and start over.

Great Camera, Terrible App

The camera is incredible. The quality is awesome, it is easy to use and has a great price tag. However, the app is impossible to use. It took me nearly 2 hours to go through 50 photos because they take forever to load and the videos won't even delete half the time. Considering the camera has a finite amount of space this is a big issue. SeaLife, I love your camera but please fix your app.

Update please!

This could be a great app, but pics won't upload to phone.

Crash can

This looks like really cool app if it will work right. First time I opened it and downloaded a few photos to my IPhone, the app froze up, which I guess means it crashed. SeaLife & Apple, pls fix!

Won't upload photos after update

I just recently update my iPhone to most recent version iOS 9.3.2. After this update, my photos won't upload from camera to iPhone. It was working fine before this recent update. I also updated the sea life camera firmware. Please fix this issue.

Update crap

Seriously something needs doing. I have rebooted my phone all sorts and the app is just sat there doing nothing.

Ok - needs work though

It's great to see the old Action Cam app updated so that photos and videos can be saved to the iOS photos App automatically

However - that's when it works. Too many times it says "No photos of videos" when there are lots present.

The point of the Sealife camera is no SD card. So without a cable it's wifi which is great - but only if the Sealife app works consistently.

When on a week long diving holiday and you can't get your photos off the camera - not good.

App definitely needs work. It's OK - but not great.
