Good companion to desktop app
The desktop app for MacOS is excellent: customisable in functions and looks, and provides a good selection of reports. This iOS app has a smaller set of features but, as an adjunct to the desktop app, does everything I need. I can see account balances and transactions, and add new transactions while out and about. The two apps work together very well.

Not good on iPhone
Desktop version is really good but the experience on iPhone not so. Can’t see any options to filter by date and the layout within each account is terrible. Needs some serious design work to make it on par with its Mac OS version. I’m guessing the iPad version would display better due to the larger screen estate. Of note the desktop version is the closest alternative to quicken 2016 I’ve used and highly recommended.

Needs dark mode
Easily the best “checkbook” app I’ve ever used, which is mainly what I use it for. It syncs seamlessly with the iDevice apps via iCloud. My sole beef right now is that while the desktop app does “dark mode” (white text on black background), the iDevice apps do not. If they can, I don’t see a way to make it happen.

Excellent Financial Software… that stands the test of time
I’ve been using SEE Finance for many years—long enough to watch plenty of personal finance apps come and go. This one has stayed. That alone says a lot.
SEE Finance does exactly what good financial software should do: it stays out of the way and works. My data has remained solid and accessible across macOS, iPad, and iPhone through OS upgrades, hardware changes, and now a major version update. That kind of long-term reliability is rare, especially in personal finance software, where abandoned apps are almost a cliché.
Version 3 continues that tradition… interface is clean, logical, and focused on clarity rather than. Transactions, accounts, reports, and history are handled in a way that makes sense and respects the user’s intelligence.
I especially value continuity… my financial files—years of data—remain useful and intact. SEE Finance treats user data as something worth protecting, and not to hold hostage behind subscriptions.
If you want a personal finance app that keeps on working, doesn’t lock you into a subscription, and doesn’t break every time the platform changes, SEE Finance is a standout.
Scimonoce Software LLC has earned my trust over many years, and I’m happy to recommend it without hesitation.
