Senya has been a game changer for me as a substitute teacher! From the moment I opened the app, it’s been so easy to use. The interface is intuitive and smooth, and I can quickly find and manage job opportunities without any stress.
One of my favorite things is how configurable the job preferences are. I’ve set up Senya so I only see the substitute teaching jobs that actually matter to me, whether that’s certain grade levels, schools, or travel distance. It makes browsing opportunities way more efficient.
And honestly, the bonus structure is awesome! I love how I get rewarded for the effort I put in. The more I book and complete, the better my earnings get. It’s nice to see my hard work reflected in my paychecks.

Easy to Use
It was easy to go through the process to get qualified for subbing. I like how I can see opportunities and work a flexible schedule. The bonus pay for working more days and taking urgent morning jobs is my favorite!
Highest paid sub jobs!
The company actually pays bonuses on top of what schools pay you, so you make more as a substitute teacher here than with any other company. Plus you get opportunities to work at so many different types of schools and they even tailor job opportunities to your preferences!

Really easy to use! This app is way more up to date and user friendly than a lot of other similar subbing apps. The customer service is really quick to respond if there are ever any issues. Schools are great! Pretty quick process to get set up!
Always Flexible
Senya is always changing which gives me lots of opportunities to change my schedule and find what works best for me. The people and the schools that I work with have been great. You do have to check the app a couple of times a day but it makes it exciting for every time you open it.
Joke of a company! Zero help
No help for subs. Held to a higher expectation than teachers, yet you are a sub! Most teacher dress like Adam Sandler, yet I have to have slacks and collared shirts. I dress better than the Principals in their cargos.
Worse part is you sign up for a 7th grade math class and the school just plugs you into a 1st class with 4 pages of scheduled work and recess duty. Yet they ding you if you don’t get everything done. Zero help with discipline or “hard” students. And you can’t cancel or say no to the switch; or if you do get a school to cancel the job, there are no other jobs left.
Worse part is schools and teachers can review you or say what they want about you and you are guilty … period. They won’t even tell you what they said or what you did.
Plus the new system, if you don’t log in before 6am, you get zero jobs. You also can’t see all the jobs available, you get put in a line? And they show you one job at a time and if you decline, you get moved the back of the line! Ridiculous! Stay clear!

Baffled
You lose job opportunities if you don’t accept in 15 minutes. Sometimes jobs don’t pop up for a whole week, even with my notifications on, so I suddenly don’t get any jobs. The details in the app say months with breaks get higher points for jobs because there are less days to work, but November had the same amount of tier points as the other months, even with Thanksgiving break, so I got “downgraded” to a lower tier. Disappointed.

If you cancel assignments your never allowed to work again
We are humans too and have work alot of the sub teachers are students too we have classes just bcz we cancelled assignments we can never get a job again thats terrible. You as a employer should have other opportunities.
Fix or revert this new update
The UI is fine the problem is that if I don’t check my phone for 15 mins I lose a job. Make it an hour or make it first come first serve. We don’t live on our phones. It’s also annoying having to turn on the ability to receive jobs for a day every 3 jobs. I don’t live on my phone so often times it disables me from getting new jobs if I’m out driving or something and it lowers me in priority. It’s a dumb system with no benefits and only awards the chronically online. it needs to go back to normal. Stupid.

Hate the 10/2025 update
The new update from 10/1/2025 makes it much harder to get jobs. You only have a few minutes to claim a job, but seeing as I’m not glued to my phone 24/7 I don’t even see most of the notifications before they expire.
Update ruined app
App is virtually unusable with new update. Good luck getting a single job to even appear. I guess this is why they say if it’s not broken don’t fix it.

New update is terrible. Only seeing jobs one at a time makes no sense
New updates freeze!
Can’t get past the pop up screens for the new update. Can’t see my schedule or schedule jobs. And no one at Senya will respond!

Dude, this site is down CONSTANTLY for “Site Maintenance” like every other day!!
Need to add more details to unavailable days
I wish I could mark times and not just days I am unavailable. Because there are many days where I can only do a half day, but I either have to mark “unavailable” in order to not be bugged by notifications, or I have to just keep getting bugged by the incessant notifications for jobs I can’t take. Please fix this and let us add times we are available please on the days where we aren’t available the whole day.
Also, please let us choose how often we want to be notified. It’s like seriously every dang minute I get a notification when a job comes available.
Also, pay certified teachers what we should get paid. I hardly want to take jobs because of how little they pay. Salt Lake county school districts pay at LEAST $180 per day for certified teachers.

Senya is a great app. Very transparent. No hidden fees! Absolutely great pay!!! I love this substitution app!!
It’s legit!
Anyone who like me found this and is questioning if it is really what is says it is or if it’s too good to be true, download the app! It’s for real! You go to schools and help out, if you don’t like a school it’s easy to rate them and they listen to feedback so they can be better for future subs. It’s a great way to get into education or if you have a really crazy schedule and aren’t sure if you can work on a given day ahead of time. I love it! And it is the best paying job I’ve ever had (better than fast food, retail, and entry level medical). Senya support is really helpful, even though the app does funny things on occasion, they are always quick to sort it out when I reach out.

I love this app!! I wish every school would use it. It is the perfect solution for sub work (both for schools and for subs) in this day and age! It is easier for the schools and super flexible for the subs! Everybody wins!!
Great subbing app!
This is a great app for finding substitute teaching jobs close to me. It is nice that I don’t have to apply with each individual school or district which gives me more opportunities to sub. The app is easy to use and makes finding jobs simple and fast! Their customer support team is awesome for any questions or issues I have. I love Senya!
