Please make it easier to download and add to logic

I record audio clips into session studio and it is a major hassle to get the files into logic. You have to download one by one on the computer (all same name so unless you change name for each, it overwrites the prior download - my guess is to create consumer lock-in so people pay for storage), then the can’t be easily dragged into logic onto a track. Horrible pls fix. Can we have it like voice memos where you can just drag the audio clip directly into the logic timeline?

Organised and useful

If you’re like me you’ll have endless audio clips that stay on your devise till you eventually get around to it. Well this is the best place to store them, add a few notes for reminders later and start working/adding lyrics. The addition to add collaborations with band members is very useful to keep everyone in the loop. Love it.

A must

I was first introduced this app during a writing camp. It not only made the whole camp extremely organized and fluid, I know tell people to download it anytime. We have sessions together because it’s so perfect.

My one and Only but...
I wish there was an underline feature. There’s bold, italic but no underline

Def download this app it’s a must have for songwriters and artists alike

Hi Jack, thank you for this review! If you have anymore feedback on features send an email to support@sessionstudio.com and they'll get passed to the product team.

Great tool for songwriters and producers

A single spot to keep track on ideas, work on lyrics, upload drafts, mixes, stems and masters. I host my final versions here to send links to people I ask for feedback. Great stuff and well worth the money for the paid plan.

Needs a Horizontal Screen for iPad.

I do most things on my iPad now and have poor eyesight.

Response from developer

Hi, thank you for the feedback, I'll make sure this is passed on to the product team.

Very useful app!

So far everything it’s great, but how exactly do I get to “details” in the phone app?

Response from developer

Hi, if you'd like to go through the app send an email to support@sessionstudio.com and I can help you out.

Pretty Cool!

Pretty cool and useful app! Something I would use for collaborators. My only issue was this app has crashed multiple times when opening it which can be annoying but other than that, it’s one I would recommend for my musician friends

Response from developer

Hey, thank you for the review! Could you please send an email to support@sessionstudio.com so we can look into those crashes for you.

Highly functional

Improves project coordination for my band immensely. Essential part of our work flow, especially since we all have our own studios.

Bring back audio phone recordings

The whole reason I downloaded this app was I thought I could save phone ideas here but this app makes zero sense .. and I have to use discord I don’t want to use discord

Good Start

We want to use this at out studio. People need to see you putting out regular updates. Looking forward to bug fixes and greater adoption.

Response from developer

Hi, if you have the time could you please send an email to support@sessionstudio.com about the bug fixes and what else you'd like to see.

I respect this

Finally somebody trying to help the problems of the music industry

honestly

useless, along with their gear.

So glad this app exists

I use this app so I can continue to get paid. Simple. Not to mention the collab features. The future me will give the old me a high 5 for using it.

Amazing. All musicians need this.

Why doesn’t everyone use this? So much easier.

Great potential, but missing Auddly’s features

I’ve been using this app since it was previously known as Auddly. Though it is still a useful app and website, I hope that the developers will bring back some of the features from Auddly that really made this a unique and useful tool for collaborating with other musicians. There are some sorely missed features and some current issues that I hope will be addressed in the near future.

Things I miss from the Auddly app are:

1: Real time waveform and markers on playback.
2: “Private notes” section in the lyric window.
3: The ability to set an expire date when sharing audio files.
4: Chronological filing of audio files reflected the same on desktop.

1: The ability to place markers in exact locations on the waveform was a great feature when collaborating with producers and mix engineers to mark exact points of interest in the track. The scroll feature currently in place works nicely but you can’t easily find a section of a song for review based on looking at the waveform (a breakdown, for e.g.) It’s clumsy if you’re trying to return to the beginning of the song quickly as well. Would be nice to add back the “return” button which most players have.

2: The “private notes” section was genius for collaborating on lyrics! Really miss this feature! It allowed for having a convenient scratch pad for brainstorming lyrics until you were ready to copy and paste them to commit them in the main lyric section while in a writing session.

3: It was really helpful to be able set an expiration date on shared files. This was a convenient feature when you wanted to temporarily share a file with someone.

4: One of the main issues I’m currently experiencing with the change over to Session is that all the audio files that were transferred over in each “Song” are now out of chronological order on the desktop. When adding a new file to the song, there’s no rhyme or reason to the order that audio files show up in the list. They seem to be ok on the app but not on the desktop website. Also if you have a longer file name, you can’t read the full name making it difficult to find versions. Not being able to read longer file names and have them in chronological order on the desktop version is very problematic when collaborating. You CAN label a file as “latest version” which is helpful, but not being able to communicate to collaborators clearly about a certain mix version etc., is very frustrating.

This platform/App has so much awesome potential! The seamless operation between App and Desktop is something Auddly had going for it. I really hope that some of these features are just late to the transition. If not, I may be looking for a new app for collaborating and sharing musical ideas.

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback on Session Studio. Great feature suggestions! We are sorry that you had experienced issues with sorting the audio list, though we are excited to let you know that the issue is already fixed. We are looking into enhancing the player features and notes, yes. That will come as well in a new and improved form. We would also like to invite you to discuss your feedback with our product team. If you would be interested please reach out support@session.id. Thank you!

Search

Still getting used to this new app. One very important feature in any data base app should be a search feature to filter out projects. At the moment you have to scroll to find a project. Cant imagine people with a lot of projects.

Otherwise still trying to figure it out and get used to the changes.

Thank you for the feedback. We are already working on the search feature and it will be released soon!

Missing Auddly features

This app is supposed to replace the sessions ID app which replaced the auddly app before that. The previous 2 apps and the website had features that catered to songwriting like a memo recorder and an ideas section. They were very useful for generating and keeping ideas. These features are gone now. I want them back. I hate having to keep my songwriting components separated in a fragmented multi-app workflow. One of the things that drew me to auddly was the all-in-one-place workflow solution from the beginning of an idea to managing splits and credits. If these are still coming in the new app, great! But maybe you shouldn’t have transitioned until they were in place. If they are not coming than I will be looking for another solution. I have loved auddly from the start and I want to like sessions studio. But this iteration is definitely a step backwards.

Response from developer

Hello Steve and thank you for your feedback. You still have the opportunity to record voice memo ideas in Session Studio, directly in a song (navigate from Song > Audio > Click + button > Select Record). We are also looking into how we can improve this going forward, make it even easier. And regarding ideas, to fast and easy capture any idea on the go is key. One thing we are investigating now is how to make ideas a natural part of the workflow. Our ambition is still the be the all-in-one-place app for your songwriting. Happy creating!

Game changer

I am really impressed with this app so far. Makes it so much easier to create with others.
