About

Settlement Truth is the first public, user-submitted record of what actually happens after civilian-to-civilian car accidents in America. Every case is real. Every figure is reported by the person who lived it. Every aggregate carries its sample size. WHAT YOU GET — The Record. Browse real settlement outcomes by state, city, insurer, accident type, and year. See the gross settlement, the attorney fee, the medical liens, and what the person actually walked away with. — The Numbers. Aggregate statistics on what civilian drivers actually recover. Median net recovery by state. Median settlement days by insurer. Accident types most likely to end at zero net. We don't show any ranking with fewer than ten cases — every number you see is anchored to its sample size. — The Tools. A six-question case classifier that tells you which bucket you're in — majority civilian, solid civilian, unicorn case, or catastrophic — and what to do about it. A "Before You Sign" checklist of the questions the lawyer hopes you don't ask. A plain-English glossary of the terms that get used to confuse you. — Your record. Submit your own case. Edit it. Unpublish it. Take it down. Republish it. Toggle journalist contact if you want reporters to be able to reach you (your email is never shared — every contact is relayed by us, you decide whether to reply). WHAT THIS APP IS NOT This is not a lawyer directory. We do not refer cases. We do not recommend attorneys. We do not name individual lawyers, doctors, or chiropractors. We do not give legal advice. Insurance companies are public, regulated entities and are named when our user-submitted data warrants it. THE STATUTORY DATA For all 50 states and DC, the app shows the minimum bodily-injury liability limit, the fault system (at-fault, no-fault, or choice), the comparative-negligence rule, and the personal-injury statute of limitations. Every value cites a specific state statute and is verified against primary sources. Always confirm with a licensed attorney in your state before relying on any value for a real legal decision. PRIVACY We collect your email and a hashed password. We never sell your data. Submitter emails are never published in any display mode. The web session uses one httpOnly cookie. The iOS app stores your auth token in the iOS Keychain. Push notifications are off by default and only used to tell you when your own case is approved, edited, or rejected. THE FOUNDER Settlement Truth was started by Xavier Lampkin, whose 2023 rear-end accident in Park City, Utah became Case #001 — 548 days, a totaled car, a year of chiropractic treatment, $15,300 gross, $2,906 net. He's also a 2028 candidate for U.S. President. Both facts are disclosed plainly so readers can evaluate this platform with full context. ASK BEFORE YOU SIGN. SHARE WHAT HAPPENED.
