Pigeons already caged with friends or in flight keep homing to your old loft — visit it to collect anything that lands there — while a fresh flock hatches at your new address over the coming weeks. -The telegraph, redrawn. Cable offices now keep office hours, so a wire waits for the office to open. Telegrams must be collected where they're delivered, and you can send one to "hold for collection" at a cable station of your choosing. -Ships sail on a schedule. Steamers and clippers now follow a real sailing timetable, so departures and arrival estimates reflect when a vessel is actually in port. Voyage lore is richer too — dispatches note the rivers they actually travel, ascending and descending the waterways along the way. -Expedition stores. Sled teams, lifeboats, and marches are now a limited stock that replenishes over time — spend them wisely. -Railway Mail. A new way to send: sorted aboard the R.P.O. "Fast Mail," quicker than the other overland routes in some parts of the country. -Fixes & polish. Swipe-to-clear is reliable again; a dispatch that had arrived but wouldn't open now opens; and a pigeon you've verified at your loft stays open instead of re-prompting.
