What's New in MoviePass

- bug fixes and improvements - new movies in theaters

User reviews

Horrendous

One of the worst apps ever. I’ve tried over a thousand times to use my movie credits for an any movie upgrade and it just constantly crashes. I try to use my movie credits for a different less know theatre and it constantly asks me if it’s okay to use 1 extra credit and it cancels my order/doesn’t complete the order every single time. I’ve just got ghost credits and meaningless purchase power at this point.

Frequent issues

If I have notifications, I click on the button to view them and there is no text or data.

When I am wanting to use more tickets than my reservation, my app does not prompt me to use more points. My friend does it and it allows more points to be used to buy when more points are required.

I Can’t Even Sign In

I signed up on a whim as I wanted to start up a hobby of going to theaters again, but the app crashes as soon as i open it at sign in. I’m worried about not being able to cancel the subscription or get a refund now.

Convenient at best.

When it works, it’s great! Sometimes it can be glitchy.

Total scam stay away

This app and membership is a total scam. They make the credits effectively impossible to use. They also expire periodically so you can’t accumulate enough to see the movies you want. All new releases are always more credits than the monthly allowance. I had the yearly subscription and they did not clarify they’d charge me for a 2nd year. When I tried to use the credits for a movie there was no way to actually buy the ticket with it. I ended up just paying for a ticket. Reached out to customer support who said I would need a physical membership card, which they eventually mailed to me. Overall they’ve charge me nearly $300 and I have seen ZERO movies. Total scam. Stay away. Don’t make my mistake.

FAQ

What is MoviePass?

MoviePass is a subscription service that allows you to see movies at any theater nationwide for one low monthly price. It offers savings on tickets, seat selection, and promotions directly through its app. You can choose from various monthly plans based on the number of movies you wish to see.

How does MoviePass work?

After selecting a monthly plan, you can browse movies and showtimes within the app. At partner theaters, you can use e-ticketing to get your tickets and select seats. For non-partner theaters, you will use your MoviePass card to purchase tickets. Unused credits can be rolled over, and you have the flexibility to cancel your subscription at any time.

How much does MoviePass cost?

The cost of MoviePass depends on the monthly plan you choose, which dictates the number of movies you can see per month. Plans typically range from 1-3 movies, 2-4 movies, or 3-5 movies, with pricing varying based on peak and off-peak viewing.

Can I use MoviePass at any movie theater?

Yes, you can go to any theater in the country with your MoviePass card. However, you will see the best deals and can utilize same-day e-ticketing at partner theaters, which comprise over 30% of movie theaters. For non-partner theaters, the MoviePass card is required for ticket purchases.

What happens to my unused credits?

Your unused credits will roll over to the next month, up to the amount of your current plan. For example, if your plan is for 2-3 movies per month, you can accumulate up to 4-6 credits in your account. This allows for flexibility if you miss a movie one month.
