Uncle Shaka
Would not have made it through the road to hana without Uncle Shaka! Loved the stories, the songs, the stops and even the little tips!! I wish I could hear uncle shaka talk to me all the time!

Don’t Tour Maui without this App
We have visited and toured Maui many times. We used the Shaka Guide for the first time and it added tremendous value and entertainment to our trips to Hana and the Haleakala national park. It’s worth every dollar.

Great information and directions!
Location issues
Information was good and entertaining, but it did not match up with our location. Although the app showed our location on the map, it would keep playing ahead and would be several stops ahead of us throughout the trip - both ways. I had to keep pausing it and then checking with Google Maps to see where we were to try to time the guide to play at appropriate locations. This was frustrating and would have been impossible if you were driving by yourself. Hopefully this is a bug that gets fixed

Useful and informative
The guide had a lot of useful information on things to see and history. It provides good information for both directions. Very helpful was the directions and telling you a turn was coming up soon.
Worth every penny!
Highly recommend. Works without service as long as you download it beforehand. Very very worth it, such a cool way to take a tour on your own, stop off at little places, and it picks back up when you resume in the car. It’s connected to Google Maps so it knows where you are, at all times even when your service isn’t working. Loved this feature!

We were told by locals that this app was a must- provides wonderful directions, stop recommendations and historical background along your trip. Shaka guide is a must to get the full experience of the road to Hana

Great guide, very informative!
Very helpful for our Road to Hana trip. Second time using the guide. I would suggest adding Aunty Sandy’s banana bread to the Road to Hana guide, it is a must do and guidance to the location and background of the business would be so helpful.

Amazing. The tour was on point talking about everything we were driving by. My whole family loved it. Totally recommend it
Starts and stops
While the overall content, map and design were helpful, the downloaded guide would stop playing at many points of interest, requiring manual restart, or would keep playing music and miss points of interest. I also kept getting repeated prompts to turn on location services to "always" even though I had done this before the tour began. 7/10. -3 for annoyance

Amazing, really.
Really felt like you had a tour guide right with you, the Road to Hana is not the most relaxing trip, but with this app and what the Shaka team produced, it really did help make the 10 plus hour day fly by.
Worth the money!!
Our second time on the Road to Hana and first navigating ourselves. Cant imagine having gone it without this guide. Great narration and history. Loved the music in between all the sites. Would highly recommend.
