Absolute perfection
This app is amazing and fairly easy to learn, I use it for designing models for 3d printing so the new prusa integration is really nice. I also like how I can use a mouse and keyboard or Apple Pencil, also has a ton of features for an iPad app
It don’t work
I don’t have Apple Pencil. Please fix.
Intuitive app but prohibitive pricing
I am just starting to learn 3d modelling after using a 3d printer for a bit and I stumbled upon this app.
After going through a couple of tutorial videos I thought it was great and spent some time trying to learn making a few functional prints for my home.
Then I learnt that on free tier the exports are unusable quality and that if you want to use pro you need to fork out $500 aud a year, which makes no sense unless you’re a professional and making money off your designs, at which point you’d probably be looking at the more traditional cad softwares.
It’s a real shame that they don’t have a casual/hobby tiered subscription which I would (along with many others) be happy to pay.
It’s not fair on the devs for me to give a 1 star review because the app seems great, but the community has been very vocal about wanting a hobbyist tier for the non professionals; so the 1 star is for not listening to your community.

Perfect for average person design and 3D printing
I was newer to 3D printing and I picked this software up to expand parts I could not find online. I have found I am using it for so many uses.
Terrible
Nothing like dropping over $200 on a app so unpolished I could’ve made in Claude in less than a week and it would actually work how a 3d modeler should. Absolutely baffling to me how the tools work when they want to, if at all. Or when they do they don’t come close to what you draw and give a million guide rails for. There’s plenty of other great apps that are LEAGUES above this one. Do not waste your time or money.

Locked behind a login
Require my personal data to even test your software to see if it will do what I want, I shouldn’t have to do that just to see if it will do what I need. Then force me to go through 10 minutes of tutorials. You should hire a consultant, nobody wants to deal with that. Don’t lock everything behind the stupid steps you think will help. Clearly out of touch with the end user.

Bait and switch
Makes it look like it’s free but it’s really almost $300/yr

If I could do zero stars, I WOULD. Really fun, but why do you have to have a subscription? Why can’t you just make it free. It’s EXTREMELY expensive. 20 to 30 a MONTH!?! That is VERY greedy.

no money - no way to take what you created (unsuitable quality)
Everything written in the preview images—"free 3D modeling for your needs" and "modeling accuracy"—is a lie. Yes, you can create an object accurately in the program, but you can only export it in terrible quality, unsuitable for printing or anything else. You'll be desperately searching for a remeshing tool that won't restore the impression of a beautiful "preview image," as it's effectively called in the free version of the program. If you're not willing to pay $40 per month or 300% per year, the program is useless. You'll only waste time and effort learning and be disappointed with the quality of your work. But I must admit, the program is a piece of cake; everything is very high-quality and beautifully done, and I'm grateful for that. But for those starting out, like me, without any money in their pockets, it's a shame.

Doesn’t work
I got this app expecting what it said, but I get 15 seconds of a still image of the logo, then black screen, then app crashes! Doesn’t even work, please fix this
iPad M5 Unuseable
Impossible to run on this fast processor sketch items switch to area select before you can establish a reference point
It would be good but too much stuff to pay for

Worth it
From a hobbyist perspective Shapr3d really does stand head and shoulders above the alternatives. It’s a joy to use, the iPad integration is genuinely useful and it still has all the tools that I find myself needing. The only downside is that it is more expensive than some of the other options a hobbyist might be considering.

First time user
I am a first time user with CAD and with the tutorial I am able to easily build without issue! 10/10 would definitely recommend!

This is like the best app for iPad users. It has everything you need! But I don’t like that keeps visualization, etc. costs $249.99 yearly. They should make it cheaper, or even make it free!
