Really wanted to like it!
I really liked the idea of this app, but the functionality wasn’t quite there yet. I couldn’t quite get things to flow the way I wanted. Couldn’t get links to show up the way I was hoping for. It did help me think more creatively about automation, but I don’t need the app for most of that. I messed around with this for a few weeks before giving up. I am going to check back in a year or so and see if things have improved.

Truly a game changer
ADHD can make life difficult in small ways, and this app is trained to level the playing field. I love the communication style, user friendly platform, and can’t wait to get my smart tags to set up automations. I work hard, so I love that I can set some things in my life to easy mode. Thanks dev team! 😍

Helpful, but bumpy
I genuinely find the personality of this AI to be very helpful, it’s nice to feel like I have a little coach in my pocket helping to keep me motivated and making progress. I’ve encountered some frustration with the app being buggy and have only been able to fix it by deleting the app and reinstalling, which creates another task I have to remember to do.
My wishlist for this app:
• integration with Shortcuts and NFC tags
• the ability to help me plan my day
• in-app guides that teach helpful skills to get the most out of the app (especially once Shortcuts and NFC capabilities are added)
I think this has a lot of potential and I look forward to seeing how it improves.

Someday
I love the idea of this app. I love that you can choose what to pay. However at the moment it is a little too simplistic. There are some kinks that still need working out. Couple of years I will be interested to see how this app changes.
Meets me where i’m at!
This is a game changer for everyday tasks. For someone who forgets things or needs helps organizing a schedule this is a perfect app! You can also select different plans to adjust to your needs. Definitely recommend it’s a life saver
Fun helpful product and great customer service!
I accidentally started on the WhatsApp version and a few days later switched over to this app. Onboarding for the app was very smooth and then reaching out via email to help figure out how to end the WhatsApp subscription went great and Lydia was amazing. This service is a delight and super helpful indeed.

Game Changer
I’ve never written and app review but this one is a game changer. I’ve only been using it for a day, and I’ve already been able to brain dump all of my to-do’s and open tabs in my brain to Shelpful. I’m so excited to integrate this into my everyday life as it becomes second nature. Bravo!
Super Shelpful!
I don’t leave reviews often, but this app absolutely deserves it.
Shelpful has genuinely helped me regain control of my day-to-day life. The AI assistant feels supportive without being overbearing, and the way it checks back in on tasks throughout the day has been a game changer for staying focused and actually following through. It doesn’t just remind me once and disappear — it helps me stay engaged until things are done.
What stands out most is how natural it feels to interact with. Instead of staring at a static to-do list, I’m having a conversation that keeps me moving. It’s practical, intuitive, and surprisingly effective.
If you struggle with staying organized, following through, or just keeping your momentum going during the day, this app is absolutely worth trying. Five stars without hesitation.
I’m genuinely looking forward to seeing how the team evolves the UI over time to keep the app fresh and aligned with where AI is headed.

Love!
Absolutely loving this app! I usually never look at my reminders or todo apps I always just by pass them, but this is like having my own personal todo helper that keeps me motivated and reminds me throughout the day to get my stuff done!
I’ve made it so my phone goes into focus mode during the day and turns on my sound and the only notifications that come through are from shelpful and phone calls this has also helped me a ton with staying focused and I have stopped doom scrolling too with the help of shelpful reminding me to get off those apps and by just easily removing them from my Home Screen all together so it’s not just a habit to click on them. Can’t wait to see what other updates and things come out! Love the sorting option!

Ask it about privacy
Within a solid hour of asking the clanker questions, it had told me that staff can read our chats, basically. It told me they never would unless I asked but then decided to flag up a comment I made about the website having outdated information, then eventually admitted someone could read the chat if they wanted, but trust them, they won’t.
This isn’t good enough.
I was not able to export my chats for my own records but was told they have them in a file?
I joined after following two women founders but the bot is telling me Zac Swartout is CEO now. Presumably this had to do with Shelpful getting seed money from Sam Altman or other business stuff. But it feels very uncanny to be led here by the women and find men taking over the backend.
Lots of old data about shelpers - human beings who used to manually send the reminders like a PA. Unclear if they still contract humans for this. Contract? Not employees? Does the independent contractor have the full text of our convo after I talk to the bot?
I used to work in tech and I know it’s chaotic. But I don’t feel good with the privacy policy and without an extremely clear explanation about who does access my chats and when and what kind of role, credentials they need. There’s a lot of implied “nobody would be naughty” but I want to be ensured they can’t.
I emailed staff to complain about text in their official shortcuts offering that suggests using the bot while driving that you can read at the red light. I told them to look up how often adhd’ers - their target market - crash. It’s significantly higher than people without it. No self-respecting adhd app or any app for that matter should be encouraging distracted driving.
I was already using ChatGPT to do all of this stuff mostly. I’m not sure the auto ticking of lists is worth adding a whole second company to lose or expose my personal conversations as I try to get it together.
And they are funded by Sam Altman and using ChatGPT. His history with Elon Musk aside (ew) how will this app be when Apple changes their intelligence to Gemini?
I really want to like this app but it feels chaotic and like being the scenes maybe a lot is happening that isn’t transparent to the user. I’m cancelling my subscription for now and will see how it looks when their funding dust clears. It’s been two years since the press releases. Surely the info should be updated by now, about the company and whether humans are reading my chat.

SEEN and helped
I happened upon a Shelpful reel that included someone opening a package with their hands without standing up to get a knife or scissors - then explaining that’s an ADHD thing. I had no idea other people did things the same way I did… and that there could be something that HELPED. The chatbot in this app is the best Ai bot I’ve used in any new application. It has great ideas, tactful nudges, and just the right amount of celebration. It’s been a few days and I’ve already donated two boxes of clothes that don’t fit, signed up and gone to physical therapy, and prepped an easy breakfast a night before. These are the things that sound obvious to everyone else, but have had invisible blockers for me forever. I absolutely cannot wait to see how this app evolves. Highly recommend the download and the use of precious notification space.

So helpful!
I really love this app! I feel like every week I’m uncovering another way that it’s helpful. Just the other day I got it to help me make a pro/con list that was so helpful. Can’t wait to start using NFC tokens to set up more automations. Thank you for making something so ADHD friendly!
Strong concept that needs more intuitive execution
Shelpful has a strong foundation and the potential to become a highly effective productivity tool. From a product and usability perspective, the concept is solid. The app introduces an interesting blend of task management and conversational support, which is promising. I can see this becoming an essential tool for users with ADHD and for anyone who benefits from guided workflows.
At this stage, the core experience needs more intuitive interactions and refined usability. Several friction points limit the overall value. Improving micro interactions such as double tap, swipe, highlight, prioritize, and quick action shortcuts would increase speed and reduce cognitive load. Tasks also need clearer differentiation between habits, one offs, and recurring items with scheduled dates. Editing should be possible in both the chat view and the task list view, and task cards should expand in a way that allows additional context to be added easily.
There are also a few stability issues and minor bugs that create hesitation for a paid subscription. The vision has potential. With further iteration, improved interaction patterns, and better task management structure, this could be a standout tool. I will revisit the app as development continues. If the team commits to deeper product refinement, I can see myself becoming a long term user.

Great baseline but room for improvement
I think this app has all the right foundations to be a great tool, but it still has some limitations. I appreciate that the app team is constantly trying to evolve the product and think future iterations will just get better and better. That being said, I have had some technical issues and have been unable to get in touch with anyone to help for at least 5 weeks. I know it is a very small team, but my emails and DMs have gone unanswered and it’s a bit frustrating when my issue is something that impacts my daily use of the app. Overall I am enjoying the app but not sure I will continue to pay for an app that is seemingly unable to provide any technical support.

Potentual
Has great potential. Plan to check back in several months to see if it’s improved. I really like that you can give it preferences on how it should remind you. I love that it checks in throughout the day. I asked it to be supportive and encouraging and love that if I had a rough day where I missed my targets it speaks encouragingly and helps break it down into something I can do for a quick win.
what I don’t love is pretty much every time i open it it takes a looooong time to load and closing/reopening does not help. I often end up doing something else rather than waiting. I would love if it could read more nuance as well. I told it i did xyz but now i need to do abc tomorrow and it didnt ask if i wanted a reminder about abc. It was easy enough for me to say hey remind me about abc tomorrow afternoon but it would be nice if it could figure that out from the conversation. Happened a couple of times so it wasnt just a fluke that it didnt pick it up.
good luck! i think this is a great idea!

Helpful indeed!
I like that it makes it ok to just tackle part of a task instead of the whole thing. Makes it seems way less overwhelming. And I like customizing it to talk to me in a manner I enjoy.
Beta product - Needs some work
I really really wanted to love this app, on paper it’s exactly what I’ve said is missing from to do list apps!
Pros: The ability to ‘talk’ naturally is so nice and the gentle nudges to do something or be able to say ‘remind me in 1 hour’ because you’re tied up makes it much more realistic to daily life.
Cons: it just doesn’t work yet…it needs more development. The AI constantly made mistakes, it would miss tasks for the day even though they were scheduled, when asking to change the time on one task it suddenly decided to change every single task on my list to that day/time, it was honestly a disaster. And it can’t yet self correct its mistakes, if you want to change the due date of something you have to manually go and fix all its errors.
This app has potential, but it’s very much in its Beta phase and can’t justify the monthly spend yet until these major bugs are fixed.

2.5 stars: it has potential but is still an immature LLM product
I have a PhD in human behavioral research and use a variety of LLMs daily in professional and personal capacities. It has a good number of inaccuracies/hallucinations, as well as an inability to follow some instructions, such as not to use emojis. So it’s an LLM. For an LLM it’s pretty good, but not nearly as good as a human would be. I would urge the developers that while dialing in the model they provide free, sporadic, humans-in-the-loop, to ensure the model doesn’t do things like repeatedly promise that it can interact with you in ways that it’s clearly programmed to avoid, and so that it doesn’t miss things—either when you ask for something, like a complete list of tasks, or to undo something, like undo an item on list that it messed up. I don’t think the model is currently good enough to warrant charging more than a couple of bucks (at most) weekly. I think they should still be in the beta phase, and I hope they have good quant and qual UXRs working on improving the product. I’m undecided whether or not I’ll keep the app, but after using it for less than 24 hours I am disappointed.

This app changes the game
I have tried so many ways to function in my new season of life and have yet to find a good fit -I’m a full time working mother of a 3 and 5 year old and a homeowner as of 2020. I’m desperate for a helper and plan to use this app in conjunction with my therapy appointments to put more systems in place to hopefully crack the nut on feeling “in control” of the world around me so I can feel more peace in my life. I’ve had the app for a few days and the AI integration is a game changer.

Loving so far; but bug?
I am Loving this app so far. It’s fun to interact with and easy to set up.
One problem I’m having is that I’m not getting audible notifications. Everything is set up correctly in settings, but I get no ping. I need a ping 🙂
