Potentially fun game if one overlooks bad server maintenance scheduling. After one gets started, one joins or creates a city. Having a good city means there are active players that enter the game multiple times a day. This is helpful when the main event, city raid, occurs. City raid offers prizes based on your level and overall city performance. Server maintenance and updates and most game problems happen during city raid. When one can’t get into the game, because of server maintenance or a bad update or other problems, it turns a potentially fun game into just another bad game. Please note that on occasion the company will offer compensation for their mistakes. Anything that has been offered previously in the game can be gotten. Their customer service is very, very helpful.

Love but suggestions.
I am loving this game and the structure that it has in every aspect. Just a few key things that I may suggest and can be implemented with a sub or something of the sort, with repairing items if we could have an option with coins instead of gems but that's minor in my eyes because of the ability to craft replacements and typing this out made me realize why it's like that so disregard. But the biggest thing I could see is that it would be great if there were other ways to obtain account XP instead of just selling items to the NPCs that come into the shop. Maybe from crafting in general or doing dungeons? I'm not saying give us the levels but make it more diverse and allowing us different ways to obtain XP to level in a more suitable way.

Get it Together
For now the second time, I am having to delete this game from my phone. Been playing for close to 3 years but I’ve had it with all issues that come up every time there’s an update. I have been unable to log in for close to 2 weeks now, all because of an update. A few months ago I was unable to log in for 3 weeks and again, it happened right after an update. I stopped playing over a year ago for this very reason. After not playing for one year, I thought (incorrectly) that the connectivity issues had been resolved. I know the issue is not with my phone, it is definitely Shop Heroes. This game is super fun and one of my fave mobile games but I’ve lost patience with the updates. It’s frustrating when you spend real money on a game and then are unable to play because of an ongoing issue. Please fix this.

More empty promises
Every update for the last year has claimed to fix all the broken features and bugs (and there are numerous) but fails to deliver. This latest update is no exception. I downloaded thinking perhaps I could now get notifications, or my screen would no longer flicker between sizes, or perhaps the fortune teller would, indeed, be back. Cloudcade continues to let down their customers while treating them like the enemy. If you spend any time on the forum, you’ll find there’s little room for feedback or constructive criticism as everything is swallowed up the the shadow of the developers’ hyper-inflated egos.
*Update* I was asked to update my review because supposedly lots of issues have been fixed. Still no full screen support for IPhone X, the screen glitches during crafting, fortune teller is still broken and notifications still don’t work.
Shop Titans is a better game. Go play that instead.

Great game, doesn’t get boring
Overall a great game! Sometimes the push to spend lots of money/the questionable calculated odds of things (opening chests, fusing, roulette) can be a bit much...but honestly overall it is a lot of fun. The game has a lot of depth to it and does not get boring over time (I’ve been playing 2.5+ years and still feel like I have tons left to explore). Join an active city, build your world over time, and enjoy!

A good crafting game gives you this feeling of owning a shop. The game has a friendly community! My wife and I have been enjoying this game since we installed it.
I have tried their support, and they respond fast and accurately. They were friendly and professional in the way they assist you, and takes little time to solve your game-related problems.

Really good Potential
The game is truly fun. It keeps you consistently busy and thinking of the next task you want to start or complete while you’re already in the middle of quest or craft which is really fun the characters are fun and unique and because of that the game makes me keep playing to see what hero I can unlock next to hire for quests. The potential for the game is really there when you play it the only real problem I have is with the gems and the asking price when it comes to them. I understand to have a game like this for free you need to get your coins somehow but 75 gems just to change my main character appearance when you guys had me as a girl to start when I’m a male irl lol kinda ticked me off and the accessories and cosmetics are a lot gem price wise too! BUT the base game does serve you gems as you accomplish goals that soon start to become rare so you don’t necessarily have to pay for end when you can grind. Only reason I got the 1.99 pack of 250 gems (pretty good deal anyway) is to change the appearance of my character but other than that you guys really have something good here keep it up mates

Fun game but unreliable servers
I really enjoy the combination of gameplay elements in this game. It's fun exploring the crafting trees and sending heroes off to combat. The only problem is it's only useable 5 days out of the week. Every weekly maintenance since I started playing shuts me out for a day or more, I have to reinstall at the risk of losing progress. Any combo you build up towards blueprints is lost, the 24 hour limit quests expires... it diminishes any reward for playing the rest of the week, because I know the maintenance will break my ability to play in one capacity or another, and I'll start whatever raid broke the game behind everyone else because of the downtime. It's cute and fun but I don't know why it's so unstable.

Prepare yourself for the worst community management you have ever experienced. Have a complaint you wish to bring up on the forums? Banned. Question the developers over in game chat? Banned. Vent to friends in the unofficial Shop Heroes Discord channel? Yeah you guessed it...
But why do people complain you ask? Well Timmy, once upon a time this game had small updates on a near monthly basis and now, it’s been about a year since any form on “content” update. They always promise that new stuff is coming, but that day never arrives and the community managers respond as if we are crazy for bringing it up. That the team is hard at work and news is coming soon. Pure gaslighting.
If you can ignore all of the above and like idle shop management games then this is the game for you. Just sit quietly, don’t speak up, or you risk losing your account forever. Many of the very top players, the ones who helped shape the community and made the guides and contributed to the spreadsheet are presently banned. They are amazing people who loved this game and it is a shame they are gone.

Fun but grrr.
The game is really fun. It’s an interesting perspective on rpgs. I play with my wife and are enjoying do so together. However, I find that 100% I have an item break when a party comes back and it’s kind of frustrating. I get it. It’s only 3% chance on avg, to break. But why every time when my party comes back something has to break. Really discourages even outfitting them. Don’t want anything to break. Who knows maybe they are fighting rocks instead of living things.

Problem with download
This is an excellent example of a good Idle game.... i’m not consistently being slammed out by pay walls or ridiculous wait times straight out of the gate... if you wait for something genuinely feels as though you waited for something that was worth it rather than waiting for some stupid item that you’re never going to use.... it’s fun competitive enough to keep it enjoyable .... I play this game almost exclusively on Steam but wanted an alternate account so that I might be able to produce additional funds for my town.... however for whatever reason no matter how many times I install and uninstall this game I continue to have 4100 issues with connection to the server. I know for a fact that my Internet is not the problem with a download and upload speed exceptionally fast I wish I knew a way to fix this so that I may play on my phone as well as the PC if any Devs or moderators read this I would graciously appreciate any input that may or may not be able to help me fix the problem that I’m having with my download thank you if you’ve read this much it’s a great game

I’ve been playing this game on and off for what feels like a couple years now. I’ve seen reviews where people complain about having to spend money but to get the game’s special currency(gems), you don’t need to spend a dime like some games. In this one you can easily trade your craftable items with players around the world and with a little patience you can get any upgrade whether it’s a short term or permanent boost to gameplay. In conclusion, I don’t feel like the game pressures me to spend money but I will admit that I love the game so much that I’ve spent a little on it and since it’s not a super “competitive” game it’s really not necessary.

Complete incompetence
The team running this game takes the word incompetence to a whole new level.
First, the game lag can be so horrendous that I feel like they run the server out of an old cardboard box and some fishing line. The sporadic lag is bad enough to drive new players away. You honestly wouldn’t know what you are clicking on or how to access any of the tabs and menus. You tap a button on screen, wait up to 15 seconds, then something might happen. Some days, it’s that bad.
Second, they allowed their certificate to expire in the iOS App Store, therefore making it impossible for iOS players to access their game. The official workaround - yes official- was to “set your device’s internal clock back to before our certificate expired.” Then you can play. Ok...... no thank you. We are on day 3 with no idea when or even if we will be able to log in again.
I enjoy the game play and the mechanics. I enjoy being part of a city of players who are working together. I enjoy the art style of the game. I do not enjoy being screwed around by bad management, technical inadequacies, and poor communication. If the game ever returns, I would suggest you avoid it.

Great game - no purchase necessary
I’ve been playing this game for well over a year now. I have to take issue with the reviewer who complained that it was expensive. That’s just not the case. If it were, I’d have stopped playing by now. One of the reasons I continue to play is that the game is super engaging and can be played whether you’re willing to spend money on it or not. My husband is frugal to a fault. He won’t spend a penny on games. This is the only mobile game we both play. (And he’s ahead of me even though I started playing first.)
The premium currency (gems) the other reviewer mentioned is available through a variety of means in the game (both through skill and chance). And spending gems is always optional. If you break equipment, yes, you can spend a ton of gems to fix the item, or you can craft a replacement yourself, or you can spend far fewer gems to purchase a replacement through the tradehouse. If you need more haggling power, you can spend a ton of gems on decor or you can spend gold to level up your counter. Gems are a shortcut that can help you advance more quickly, but they are by no means a requirement.

The flaws become noticeable after you hit the typical throttle points that lean heavily on in-app purchases to launch you past. It’s fun, so it doesn’t seem like a waste, at first. Then you start noticing how they are pushing premium currency on you. Item breaks while out on an adventure? You can trash it or spend just a few gems to fix it... funny how items with a 3% chance of breaking seem to break EVERY time you come back from an adventure. Freemium On Steroids
This game is like Potion Shop in that they both have the word “Shop” in their title and play similar background music. Potion Shop was a great game that if you were clever and patient, you could play without spending money. This version has taken the freemium model to a ludicrous extreme. For example; A personal hero quest can take over 4 hours to complete. If the quest fails, your 2 heroes are out of commission for 8 hours, unless you pay to have them healed. When I say the cost is hefty, I’m not exaggerating. When I log in to the game, I feel like there is a virtual mugger in the app, waiting to strong arm me out of more money.

Amazing game but connection issue
This game creates a both relaxing but engaging experience. It gives you a sense of operation. I like the idea that you are a shopper and you are assisting the heroes, crafting and selling valuables, but at the same time, be able to send heroes on quests. It feels like how a fantasy game supposed to be.
Issues: I have experienced several disconnections and at first I thought it was my internet's problem. But have tested it several times else where with great internet, the game still experience lag and disconnect over time. Says server is not keeping up and out of sync. Please look into this issue, as it shouldn't be a obstacle for the development of a great game.

Great game BUT a glitch to the dailies
The daily that compounds is great but one is NOT acceptable the sell —- of ——- I can sell them in trade but this item requires you to sell to an npc and they have to want it even using the hearts to force it to someone can be difficult as again they have to want it in their range of gear. So my descent request I will fail because I only have 1 npc who remotely wants it and I have to keep cycling thru and hopes he comes into the store. This has happened numerous times to me and is an unreasonable daily.

Long term appeal
This is the ONLY game I have played consistently for over a year (maybe 18 months now). I have played others and returned to them for stints, but then become bored again and only play them when they have events or new updates. This game however, has kept me interested where I have played nearly daily since I have downloaded it. It’s a simple idea but has deep mechanics. You don’t need to spend money to advance if you are patient. But if you, you can spend it on permanent upgrades that will enhance your game, rather than for short-term boosts.

Fusion
This game is really great. The only reason I am giving it one star is because three times now I have attempted to fuse two items with a 100% success rating only to have it fail. So, yeah, play the game, it is great. Just, you know, fix the darn fusion thing. Don't lie to me and tell me it will fuse if it won't.
Update: They updated the fusion and it no longer says 100% chance of success, it tells you the chance of success. Thanks! The game is great!
