About
Shortcut Canvas turns actions in the Shortcuts app into reusable image-building blocks.
Create a canvas, add rectangles and styled text, then render the result as a PNG or PDF file. Canvas-building actions return the Canvas used by the next action, keeping even multi-step workflows readable and composable. Pass the finished file directly to Quick Look, Save File, Share, Send Message, or another compatible action.
START WITH A TEMPLATE
Choose from 14 built-in designs: birthday and thank-you cards; calendar event, announcement, sale, and countdown cards; diplomas and certificates; quote cards and status badges; event tickets, business cards, recipe cards, and meeting agendas.
Customize templates inside Shortcuts instead of manually positioning every text item. Change meaningful text fields, choose one of six coordinated palettes, override individual background, surface, accent, and text colors with validated hex values or semantic colors, and disable the canvas background for transparent PNG output.
COMPOSE YOUR OWN
Choose the canvas dimensions, scale, background, persistence, and appearance. Add rectangles with fill, border, corner radius, opacity, rotation, and shadow. Add text with system font size, weight and design, color, alignment, wrapping, line limits, padding, background, opacity, and rotation.
PREVIEW THE REAL DOCUMENT
Every canvas created by a Shortcut appears in the companion app’s unified register with a real rendered thumbnail. Open it to inspect the same canvas rendering used for export, zoom from 25% to 600%, and export or share PNG and single-page PDF files.
LEARN BY EXAMPLE
Explore workflows for every built-in template plus step-by-step canvas compositions. The in-app Help reference explains action chaining, coordinates, colors, transparency, storage, and privacy.
LOCAL BY DESIGN
Shortcut Canvas requires no account and contains no analytics, advertising, networking, or third-party SDKs. Canvas documents and exports are handled in app-controlled storage. Files leave Shortcut Canvas only when you explicitly share them or pass them to another action.
