Love this app!

This app is very helpful in understanding my weaknesses.

Best Golf App

Basic features are free and they are easy to use. Graphics especially 3D are awesome for planning rounds for new courses or even the ones you frequent.

Worth the investment

Genuinely a phenomenal product for golfers of all levels. Execution of the app is near perfect.

Feature request: to be able to plan out rounds in advance and save them so that when you get to the round itself you can load up your game plan and get started.

Five Stars for a reason

I’ve used Shot Pattern for a few years now. The app was good to start with and has only continued to improve. There are constantly new additions and improvements made, and it is very simple and intuitive to use. Support was also extremely responsive and resolved the only glitch I’ve encountered very quickly. Overall, I would highly recommend Shot Pattern to any serious player looking to meaningfully track their progress and practice needs.

This is a must have if you a serious golfer!

First season tracking my shots with shot pattern and I love it. 4 handicap trying to get down to scratch. Shows where I good and bad at golf and I’m surprised where strokes gains bar is set for scratch. Handy for GPS distances on your Home Screen when you’re playing.

Shot planning and stats analysis

I have been using ShotPattern for two years, collecting various rounds in the app. Initially a shot planning tool, it has transformed into an excellent statistics app. The latest updates pushed the stats part to the next level by showing each shots landing final position. I can switch views between proximity and left/right miss control or distance control, and filter by round type, club, or lie. I can also click each ball and see where and when I played that shot, including starting position and distance to the flag.

The recent update also added analysis features for putting and short games, which is fantastic, particularly for evaluating distance control. It highlights where I am losing shots and if I miss left or right more often.

Tracking shots on the course has become significantly easier, seamlessly integrating into the game flow.

While I have attempted various apps in the past, ShotPattern remains the only one I have consistently used for the past two years

Waste of money

Absolute waste of money. No free trial so you have to pay to even try it, and it’s nothing the free version of 18 birdies won’t tell you

The best gps app

There’s simply nothing on the market that remotely compares to this app from a course management and functionality standpoint. I never play a round of golf without it.

Beneficial to Improving

I started using the app as a low single-digit handicap. The more data I entered, the more informed I became at preparing for a round - on both my home course and any other course. The latest updates in the statistics area have been game changers for me. They have shown me what area(s) of my game I need to focus on to improve even further. The app will help you!

Close but not there yet.

I specifically downloaded this app to look at sg for upcoming courses. It’s not basing the sg off of actual data, but an algorithm based on distance - which is kinda helpful but can’t answer the critical question of whether it’s worth taking on risk or not. For example, if you go left and are blocked out by trees, it may still show a positive sg because you’re closer to the hole. Simply being closer to a hole is not enough.

Best App for Golf Software for Prep and Strategy

The iPhone app is incredibly paired with the Mac is the best software you can use for prep for tournaments and rounds.

What a joke of a company!

Just remember to cancel your free trial on time people. I mean $127 is not going to change my life so I’m not worried that you charged me after the free trial but even after I reached out to get a refund and explained I used the app for a total of 1 time (during the trial period) and it wasn’t for me, they refused a refund…LOL. I am going to do my share of warning people against apps like yours.

Not Simple…sorry

I find this app helpful but so damn difficult to manage.

It provides good data about my shots that is true. However, the “simple” interface is not simple.

I find the ability to mark my starting location and aim point and then mark my shot final location frigging impossible to do consistently.

I mash a button combination one way and it works then I scre up and hit something else by mistake and I’m now in an interface where I have to guess where I am on the course re enter my club, etc etc…

I have been called out by my Friends for taking too long on the course to hit a ball ( cause I find myself somewhere I’m not expecting to be) I have horrible shots in my dispersion data that I really don’t want.

It very well could me a me issue. I feel you need to know that the app is good but it is not simple, quick, or super easy.

1st round

Still learning

First time using.

As the title. I tried SP for the first time today, out on the course. I found it very complicated and time consuming to use. Bear in mind I primarily use though my watch (Apple watch Ultra). It seemed very fiddly to get to enter a score and move to the next hole. Maybe I need some more time with it. But for now, I’ll be using golf shot.

Clunky but has potential

I’m rating it 2 based on value. It’s a decent app and has some high points, but unfortunately compared to other gps apps with shot tracking in its price range of $100/yr it falls well short in features, functionality and interface. The biggest downside is that for an app with automatic shot detection it just requires too much editing and adjustment at the end of the round and since there’s no way to enter a score, you must go through every shot to ensure accuracy.

Continues to improve

So many apps just kind of stall after a couple of updates, but Shot Pattern continues to add value with regular updates that improve user experience.

Course Management and Game Analysis

I've been using Shot Pattern for more than two years now, after trying out Fore Game Golf, BeBrassie, Shot Scope, etc. The difference with Shot Pattern is that I don't just use it for analyzing my shots after the round. I can also decide what the best shot is from every position during the round. Most of these apps include similar features now as well. One thing that was bothering me with all of these apps was that the automatic shot tracking never properly worked for me. I always had to spend a lot of time after the round correcting my shots or club selections and what I actually hit. This is due to the fact that the GPS can only give you the general lie, but never how it plays like. For example, I play very narrow courses with lots of trees, a position in the semi-rough could still be a recovery shot due to some trees obstructing the green. I'd rather take five seconds over a shot to get this right than spend twenty minutes after the round remembering what the exact position was.
