App ruined by update
Junk
iPhone 13 mini problems
Testing - good but room for improvement - Apple Watch.
While it picks the swings, sometimes you don’t know if you already entered the clubs.
Apple Watch should at least be in sync with iPhone It should be in sync with iPhone app. Should also have the option to use the sensors.
Sometimes the clubs it gives you aren’t the clubs you want to use, it’s always recommending the club, so you could enter the wrong club.
The ability to export data is useful.
I want to like it, but lacks some features and want to golf a couple more rounds to give it a fair test.
The tin
Warum nicht mit km/h
In der App aber alles auf englisch und die Geschwindigkeiten in Meilen. Englisch ok, aber Meilen ein No Go
Das LM1 stürzt auch immer wieder ab, was auch in Foren auf einschlägigen Seiten schon besprochen wird. Wann gibt es ein Firmware Update und wann wird die Sprache/Masseinheit in der App angepasst?
Frustrating Experience
Needs improvement for UI and UX
The biggest advantage is the pricing: one payment and no subscription. That alone makes Shot Scope very appealing compared with many golf apps.
However, the Apple Watch experience needs improvement:
1. UI and navigation: The interface is awkward to use during a round. Most navigation relies on scrolling with the Digital Crown. Left/right swipe gestures would make it much faster, and users should be able to customize which information appears on the watch.
2. Button responsiveness: Some buttons need a very deliberate press and occasionally don’t register. On my Apple Watch Ultra 2, some controls also feel too close to the edge of the display.
3. GPS update speed: Compared with Golfshot, distances to the green can take a few seconds to refresh after moving, which interrupts the flow during play.
Shot Scope offers excellent value because there is no subscription, but the Apple Watch UI and UX currently hold it back. If the interface became faster, more customizable, and easier to navigate, this could be one of the best golf apps available. For now, Golfshot is still quicker and easier to use on the course.
Apple Watch app review
Tried this out for a single round after hearing of the Apple Watch app release. Initial setup had the app trying to play a round all day long until I actually played the round. Drained the heck out of the battery. There is little at this stage in help or documentation on the app so I did the best I could. I tried shot recognition and that wasn’t working will. I switched to manual and it was better, as well as reduced battery drain. I have two main issues. First, editing on the watch was really hard to find. Deleting shots or changing clubs was unclear until I got home to edit in the online portal. Second, I’m used to a watch and phone app where I can record my playing partners scores only as well as using it for scramble outings. This doesn’t exist in the app. The good, stats are wonderful. It is visually stunning on the watch. Accuracy seems on target. The watch app runs independent of needing to have the so running on the phone. The app seems to do great as a single player recording on a shot by shot basis but for this user, I want to be able to keep track of scores at a minimum for everyone in my playing group. I will be using another app to do recording of scores of my group/playing partners and use my Apple Watch to record my stats.
Great App .. Watch Apple feature feels very lacking
Needless to say I was pretty disappointed with incorrect and inconsistent data being uploaded. I had to edit each hole due to incorrect club being displayed, shots displayed wildly inaccurately.. I gave up editing all the mistakes after a couple of holes.
The other two rounds weren’t any better and also had to deal with the watch skipping a couple of holes, randomly going back to the watch face screen.
On the upside, loved the displays, much preferable vs getting my phone out of my pocket to check distances.
All in all .. still a great App but the Apple Watch functionality is definitely lacking and (as it stands) wouldn’t pay for it.
New version not very useful; issue resolved
Can I have the previous version back so I can download rounds off the X5 watch. New version has eliminated that ability
Don’t Trust Putting Stats
I often leave putts 2 or 3 inches short. The app consistently fails to register the next putt.
I often go to do a “pin collect” and the app doesn’t recognize I’m on the green or worse it has decided I’m starting the next hole. Yes, I know I can manually force a pin collect (and I do). I shouldn’t have to so often. And when I do the results may still be wrong.
Other than Greens and Putting I love the app.
Apple Watch app review
Response from developer
Hi, thank you for your review. Please update the app to version 3.7.2. This should resolve the issue with the activity not starting correctly. At the moment, the editing options available on the watch are limited to deleting a shot or changing the overall score for a hole. We are looking to add more editing features in the coming weeks. To delete a shot, scroll down to the shot list for the hole, then swipe across the shot you would like to remove. A delete icon will appear, allowing you to delete the shot. Hope this helps!
