App not updated
App isn’t updated to use the entire screen available in latest versions of iPhones. It looks weird that the chess board just shows up only in the top half of the phone screen
Has flaws in some moves, several illegal moves on the computer player, its not perfect

Excellent for novice players
I have been using Shredder for more than a decade. I love that they have a clean, simple version with up to 1500 elo rating which should prove plenty for me for some time to come. They collect no data which I much appreciate. I like to play on my own without any hints but with the option to revert a move which this app allows. Clean wholesome free app from a credible chess software company.

Glitch
There is bad glitch in this game. Mistakes. Pawn takes your pawn or other pieces straight sideways. Fix this. Its very annoying.

It broke the roles by illegally moving a pawn diagonally with out a peace to capture
Best chess game I have played
Had this for many years on various phones and tablets , I like the way you can save games played, also had it on windows phones and windows computers.

Wish I could find a chess Tudor
Your tutor works well until you don't go up in scale. At that point in the game playing your algorithm changes and starts playing so far above my level that is not a trainer at all it's just an ego trip for you. Sure glad I didn't spend the money to buy the full version!
Fantastic app for beginners
This was a great app to get me started. You can easily rewind to any point in the game and change your move at any time. Also gives you suggestions. You can also save your game for later analysis or just to rewatch. But now that I'm past 1500 Elo, I'm looking for a stronger chess engine.

Great game
I love this one. You are given suggestions a move might not be the best choice and a hint of a better one. As I played game after game my memory of the game improved, as did my confidence. I found my skill grew. Very engaging for me. I've tried many chess games and this for me is a keeper. Thanks!!

Not working with IOS 8
Apps work fine in iOS 7. I upgrade to iOS 8 and apps started to freeze a lot. Now even can make a first move! Hope there is a fix very soon for this.
Great app, but keeps freezing
Keeps freezing after you solve the puzzle , have to close the game and restart it .. Would be great if I could just start another one straight away :)
Enjoyed it, but no longer works
Enjoyed the app, but with the Sept 2014 installation of OS8 on my iPhone, no longer works. The app opens, but not a single button works. Update soon perhaps.

Since updating to iOS 8, the app freezes when I try to start a new game or ask the app for a suggestion

Given Apple's treating its customers like children, the devs have done all they could. This saves game moves and lets you copy them to paste in your email.
