The only chess app I found accessible being a blind person
I have tried so many chess apps. This is the only accessible completely accessible chess app. That’s easy to play with and beginner friendly according to me.

Habe diese tolle App schon seit vielen Jahren auf allen IPads installiert, sowohl die Lite als auch die Vollversion. Was das Elo System betrifft, so müssen natürlich mehr als zwei Partien gespielt werden um eine einigermaßen genaue Elozahl zu bekommen.
Dies trifft auch für die Lite Version zu.
Selbst habe ich eine Elozahl von aktuell 1602.
Und diese wird mir von beiden Versionen ziemlich genau angezeigt !
Also kurz und knapp mit SHREDDER Chess kann man nun wirklich nichts falsch machen ! !

Unbrauchbar
Essentiell für das Schachlernen ist die Einschätzung der Spielstärke, und hier heißt es die könne man einstellen.
Ich bin im Verein bei ELO 1100 und bemühe mich mit Büchern wie Tiegesprung auf 1500 zu kommen.
Jetzt habe ich mal gegen Shredder gespielt, zwei Mal mit beiden Farben.
Da behautet Shredder ich wäre auf ELO 1900!!! Ich solle doch Upgraden auf die Vollversion.
Leute, das ist Geldschinderei, völliger Humbug. Ich bin nie auf 1900, brauche noch mind. 1 Jahr um auf ELO 1500 zu kommen. Selbst wenn ich super drauf bin komme ich grad mal gegen einen 1400er Gegner an.

Brett zu klein
Das Brett ist mir auf dem iPad zu klein. Deshalb „nur“ 4 Sterne.

App isn’t updated to use the entire screen available in latest versions of iPhones. It looks weird that the chess board just shows up only in the top half of the phone screen

Die Liteversion ist schon recht gut. Die Vollversion ist noch einen

Has flaws in some moves, several illegal moves on the computer player, its not perfect

Hi there, any chance the "illegal" moves were a strange pawn capture? This move is called "en passant" and perfectly legal - unfortunately many people have not heard of this rule, although it's part of the game for centuries. Please be assured that we play legal chess, and feel free to drop us a line with a concrete question.
Excellent for novice players
I have been using Shredder for more than a decade. I love that they have a clean, simple version with up to 1500 elo rating which should prove plenty for me for some time to come. They collect no data which I much appreciate. I like to play on my own without any hints but with the option to revert a move which this app allows. Clean wholesome free app from a credible chess software company.

Mit dieser App kann man Super Schach lernen. Da mir die App so gut gefallen hat habe ich mir auch die iPad Version gekauft. Kann ich nur empfehlen.
Glitch
There is bad glitch in this game. Mistakes. Pawn takes your pawn or other pieces straight sideways. Fix this. Its very annoying.

The move you describe is a so-called en passant capture. It is a perfectly legal move, unfortunately not so well-known. It is a perfectly legal move since the 15th century. You might want to check our FAQ section or the wikipedia page for details.

It broke the roles by illegally moving a pawn diagonally with out a peace to capture

Hi, the move you observed is called "en passant" capture and perfectly legal: If a pawn moves two squares from its starting square, it can be captured in the very next move by an adjacent pawn as if it only had moved one square (please look up "en passant" on Wikipedia for good examples. Unfortunately, some rule descriptions miss out on that, although that rule has been around for centuries. You might also want to check out our FAQ within the app.
Best chess game I have played
Had this for many years on various phones and tablets , I like the way you can save games played, also had it on windows phones and windows computers.
Needs some attention.
Awesome app but an increased rating like 1600 or 1650 rating and more puzzles can't hurt anyone.

Wish I could find a chess Tudor
Your tutor works well until you don't go up in scale. At that point in the game playing your algorithm changes and starts playing so far above my level that is not a trainer at all it's just an ego trip for you. Sure glad I didn't spend the money to buy the full version!
Fantastic app for beginners
This was a great app to get me started. You can easily rewind to any point in the game and change your move at any time. Also gives you suggestions. You can also save your game for later analysis or just to rewatch. But now that I'm past 1500 Elo, I'm looking for a stronger chess engine.

Immer noch gut!
Ich nutze schon seit dem iPhone 4 und bin immer noch zufrieden. Die Vollversion habe ich nur für das iPad gekauft weil Weil es sich meiner Ansicht nach nicht für das kleine Display lohnt dafür Geld auszugeben. Es ist einfach zu fummelig und klein; dafür kann jedoch dieses Programm nichts.
