Waste of Time
Scheduled a moving inventory call as Shyft was recommended by my new employer. Missed the first call because the email I got said the call would be done through this app, so I wasn’t expecting a call from an unknown number. Anyway, did a second call, listed everything in my apartment, rep said they’d have quotes in a day or two… and then nothing. Never received the quotes, and (8 days later) rep hasn’t responded to email or text. I got a quote from Allied instead, who have been far more helpful and responsive.

This call went very smoothly and did not take an extreme amount of time. The account manager was friendly and helpful. Our call ended with me feeling confident and assured that my move would go smoothly. I am extremely grateful.

Was not happy with initial contact at time scheduled, called me 20 minutes late when the call was only to be 15 minutes to begin with. Did not recognize that she was late. I was not happy.

The remote walk-through of my entire home, including the outdoors, captured every nuance of my pending move. I feel much more assured now that we can simplify this move beyond my wildest dreams.

A little buggy
The connection worked most of the time but on a few occasions, I lost my move manager’s audio and I think he might have lost my video. He knew to refresh the screen immediately so we could resume the walk through. When it did work, the audio was very clear and the visuals were all crisp and clear. It’s much easier to deal with than other face to face meeting apps I’ve used. Those interruptions while not a dealbreaker were a little annoying.

Relief!

My move to Florida
I was unexpectedly forced into moving from Boston to Florida so I’m just trying to make the best of it. When I started looking around back in early April, I found the cost of an out-of-state move to be ridiculously expensive yet with almost everybody I checked with it was within $500 of each other. I’m hoping that AARP will be able to do better than that for me because I really need to keep my expense is way way down. The woman who called to discuss my move or video chat with extremely friendly and easy to talk to.
