I can’t imagine a worse service
I called a cab using the app and immediately was assigned a driver. But after waiting 5 minutes I could see he hadn’t moved on the map so I called him through the app. Took him (“Ahmed”) ages to pick up and when he did I could hear from the other voices that we was in a house, not on his way to me. I asked him about it and he said “it’s only been 5 minutes and you’re already complaining? Get another driver”. Can’t believe the level of rudeness and lack of any care that I was in a rush and was paying him for a service. Worst part: there’s not even any way to give feedback in the app about either the driver or the experience. I wish I could continue to support independent taxis but I’ll never use Silvertop again.

Issues with pick up address
Booked a cab through this today, typed in my address but the cab doesn’t arrive. He calls me and says the app has sent him up an entirely different address. Why? If it wants to use GPS, please give more warning. I almost missed my flight. The poor driver wasted his time too! Please bring back local call centres!!!

Dodgy 5 star reviews - avoid this service
The 5 star reviews are fake. See some duplicate reviews. So lazy. The one star reviews are way more accurate and reflect the quality of the service
I just give up trying to support taxis
I have been resilient in trying to support taxis.
I have been a customer of silver top for well over 30 years. But it has come to an end. I try and try again and just put up with the bad service. The app cant find a taxi or the most prominent issue is the driver accepts the booking and either drives in the opposite direction or doesn’t move for 15 minutes. It’s happened the last 3 times. Then ST has the cheek to threaten me for cancelling too many times! At least uber asks me why I am cancelling to reprimand the driver. No, with ST its always the customer at fault. After 30 years, I regrettably have to go to uber and cant support local. You did this to me! Just like everyone else moving on. Goodbye forever.

Don’t waste your time
Booking cancelled last minute, you don’t even get a notification. Just go with Uber and save time.
Police were called on driver
In a disturbing incident, the Silver Top Taxis driver based in Auburn, NSW threatened to physically harm my wife and burn down my house. The police were called and he was questioned after they found him hiding in the bushes nearby. An incident was officially lodged with the Auburn police station. The victim will be pursuing the matter to the full extent of the law. Do not use this company.

Great App
I haven’t needed a taxi in a while due to the limited need to travel but I must say I always trust the pre book option when taking an early flight. The app is easy to use and whilst others can be clunky this one has always worked well. Drivers have always been friendly and have sometimes got to my house earlier than expected for those early flights and were happy for me to stumble out of bed :)

Better than rideshare (Uber) in every way
I prefer taxis because they pay taxes in Australia unlike rideshare apps and we need taxes paid locally to support health and social welfare. Taxi service used to be terrible but it’s now so much better, more reliable and with pricing predictability which is why I use Silvertop wherever I can.
Great advance
I used to drive for Silver's decades ago in the era of the phone and the radio dispatcher, and I could wish all my passengers had been able to use this app back then. Then they would know where I was and how soon I would be coming; I would know exactly where they were; they could pay with credit cards, PayPal, etc. A great advance. I use it now as a passenger, and it's a lot better than hanging on the phone and all that.

Rubbish- drivers ignore fares
I have tried time and time again to support them only for drivers not to show up or just drive around all day.
If you call them they just ramble and pretend they can’t hear you. If you call the call centre they can’t do anything!!!!

Terrible booking
Book two hours early to make sure it’s in time and still get a late taxi. Useless service.
Don’t want my money
Created a new account, added credit card, “this account is locked. Please call 131008”. Called 3 times over 2 weeks, transferred around and around in loops through their phone system. Obviously they don’t want my business.
The worst
Booked a cab to the airport, it never arrived. Checked my booking and it said I’d been picked up. Called SilverTopTaxi and quoted the booking number, they had no record of it. Missed my flight which cost me $240. This doesn’t even deserve 1 star.
