Essential Development Tool

I’ve used Sim Daltonism for many years, to ensure that my apps are usable by as many folks as possible.

A suggestion

I was wondering if y’all can add an option for cat and dog vision, we already know they see less colors than us, the closest I can find to cat vision based on my research is protanomaly but it’s not exact, something like this would help with buying toys my cats will actually play with, plus I wana see the world through thier eyes

FAQ

What does Sim Daltonism do?

Sim Daltonism allows you to see the world through the perspective of someone with various types of color blindness. By pointing your camera at objects, the app simulates how colors are perceived by individuals with different color vision deficiencies.

What types of color blindness can it simulate?

The app can simulate several forms of color blindness, including red-green deficiencies like Deuteranopia, Deuteranomaly, Protanopia, and Protanomaly. It also simulates blue-yellow deficiencies such as Tritanopia and Tritanomaly, as well as complete color blindness (Monochromacy) and partial monochromacy.

Is Sim Daltonism accurate?

The colors shown are an approximation, as color blindness varies greatly from person to person. The simulator cannot represent everyone's vision perfectly, and factors like camera white point calibration can affect results. However, it serves as a valuable tool for gaining a better understanding of color blindness.

Who would benefit from using this app?

This app is beneficial for designers looking to improve the accessibility of their visual designs, parents wanting to understand their child's drawings better, and anyone curious about experiencing the world from the perspective of a color blind individual.

Is there a cost to use Sim Daltonism?

No, Sim Daltonism is completely free to use. It is also open source, meaning its code is publicly available.
